Hello everyone, I am new to this bowl and just want to have some insight about government sector. My SO is transitioning out from the army and has been applying for Big 4 for audit positions but havent gone well. Outside of big 4, we dont know which would be good for veterans to land a job? He has MS Accounting and CPA. Look for advices or any referral would be appreciated 🙏 TIA
How are the salaries at Oracle compared to big 4? In the past, big4 managers make around 140 first year, this year I think it’s 120.
Fellow F 🐠, why do Deloitte men suck? How about the MBB, other Big 4, Accenture, etc. guys? Just trying to understand.
Have two offers: one is from B4 and the other one is from Protiviti. I can’t believe B4 offered me way more than Protiviti Lol
my brother wants to buy an investment property with me. I remember reading kpmg rules that you can't own a business when you work at big 4. anyone out there do real Estate investing while working?
Hey there, I have two years of experience as an Associate at PwC, worked on projects as a Scrum Master, TOM projects, thought leadership for the AWM industry and digital banking industry. Looking to make a change and specialise. Been looking at internal consulting gigs at banks, other big 4, and tech companies but still unsure of what to pursue next. Any advice ?
I spent 4 or 5 hours searching for the bastille in france in 2017, with several other undergrads, who are now all employed at b4/acn.
What's the odds of one day going from B4 advisory to one of the real MC firms?? (BCG, Bain, Accenture, etc)
What is perception of Baker Tilly? I am in Philadelphia- BT is relatively new to this area. We don't try to compete with B4 but think we're on par with all others
Hello cyber team! Can anyone help suggesting sys integrator/implementation firms that are focussed primarily on cloud and devsecops? Also do they match big 4 salaries to some extent? Tia!
What exit opportunities typically exist for a Big 4 Financial due diligence (FDD) manager? I’ve heard Corp dev but may be hard to step foot in that door without IB background.
Thinking of moving from B4 to Accenture or Slalom. I mostly do Epic stuff. Pros seem to be no audit/independence crap, less travel, more tech work. Any cons?
Has anyone here been able to recover from career setbacks caused by Dot Com, 9-11, or Great Recession economy? Just turned 40 with 15 years of relevant industry experience, and my Big 4 employer brought me in at a level designed for 25 year-olds. Career progression is apparently based on time in role rather than performance, so I’ll have to spend 8 years climbing back to the level I was at pre-recession. Is there another way, or is my career stuck in neutral?
Advice needed: I’m still in love with my ex 😔 she and I dated for almost 7 years off and on then finally called it quits last year...now I’m regretting it. How can I get her back? Anyone been here b4?
First time interviewing as an experienced hire so TIA. Background info: I currently make ~65k TC in MCOL. I’m interviewing for a role in Big 4 NYC with 1 YOE and based on my research salary range would be 80-95k. Today I was asked if I would be willing to move to NYC on my own with no relocation package and was caught off guard. What are common components of a compensation package as an experienced hire and what should I be prepared to negotiate for?
Does the Big 4 + ACN have a self-fulfilling prophecy to work exceptionally long hours? Multiple posts recently about weekend work, early (< 5am) mornings, and late (> 11pm) nights. Seems inefficient.
Has anyone ever successfully applied to Big 4 job posting via LinkedIn or Company website, and actually made it to an interview round? Or is referral the way to go?
Why are recruiters so nice and interviewers so actively MEAN?! I thought you were also trying to sell me on the role on your team...?!
Looking for general feedback on salary & IC numbers: Had a recruiter reach out about a manager gig at PWC in a sales effectiveness strat role in TMT. Said max comp is $155, which is low in my mind for max (parity to my big 4 salary). Are they being serious? Or is this their way of negotiating against me? Also mentioned IC at PWC is 25% of base comp, true? (IC seems high/inflated)
ADVICE: Just got asked to interview in another city. The HR rep didn’t offer to fly me out, but asked if I could come to their office for an interview... cont
A stranger puts a gun to your head and says "I will kill you unless you get yourself fired from your current firm in the next 24 hours." How do you save yourself FB?
Really want to exit to a mid size organization (100-800 million annual revenue). Prefer healthcare or technology focused organization and location doesn't matter as I'm willing to relocate. Any suggestions on an organization like this?
Cross posting this in this bowl - can anyone share any insights into the comp for Uber Sr Program manager role? TIA!
Enjoy. Florida’s numbers shouldn’t be trusted. It was previously reported that the state governor didn’t want anyone to report covid data anymore. Now the government is following in “the presidents” footsteps.
Got laid off. Went back to my hometown and freelanced for small local shops. Was treated like some prodigal creative genius. Ego loved it.
My current SM is actually awesome (and no this isn’t the first week on the engagement) what’s wrong with the project?
Have any US 🐠 gone abroad for their MBA? Looking at LBS / HEC. Pros, cons? Not looking to exit into MBB, FAANG.
I feel as though the big 4 have so much administrative stuff to take care of cause we have the accounting arms, do MBB or boutique consulting firms have to worry about as many e-learnings & shit?
Hi, I’d really appreciate any advice. I was offered an in house position requiring a highly specialized area of law, which I have, but they offered 20k less than what the job posting originally said. Their rationale is I have less years of experience than they were looking for. Other candidates had more years of practicing experience but less experience with this industry so I beat them out. I want to negotiate for the original salary posted. Not sure if relevant but I’m a woman of color.
Anyone manager and above at big 4 have a company manage their portfolio with complete autonomy? How big of a pain in the arse is it to meet the independence requirements?
What is the interview process for a technical program manager role at Amazon. How technical are the interviews
