GC doesn’t report to the CEO. Legal’s reporting structure reflects how much business respects legal’s role. Is legal viewed as simply a cost center and blocker to get around or is legal viewed as a valuable business partner who always has a seat at the table?

This right here! Ran into this issue and was miserable.

Huge red flag - my “lack of respect for boundary” alarm goes off when I hear this one.

like

Seconding “We are Iike a family here”

“We all wear many hats here” often means “we are understaffed and you won’t be able to take PTO

If the company is very split between people who have been there <1 year and then people who have been there 8-10+, with few in the middle, there’s either a huge retention issue, they fire a lot of people and play favorites, or there were huge layoffs at some point

Immediate job offers. Yes, they might have reviewed your resume to make sure that you are qualified. Yes they might have an immediate need. But if they do this they don’t care if you’re a good personality fit, they don’t care about getting the right/best candidate —> you are nothing more than a cog in a machine to them.

High turnover; fully discretionary bonus plans

Second what SC1 said re tenure. If you’ll be the only person on the team with less than 5 ish years, there are likely retention problems.

One of my favorite interview questions is “what do you love about working here?” If they pause too long (and not because there’s a list of things they love), you might reconsider.

I am also interested in this question. Remember the other post about OP’s friend joined a crypto startup and then the company ran out of money and forcing the OP’s friend to take equity? How do you get a sense if the team is trustworthy or not in the interview stage?

Does the answer “everyday is different” to asking what you can expect to do in the role raise any flags? I can see that as a positive in that your work could be diverse and work different muscles 💪 but not sure how others view it

Don’t think so either. I generally love working in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same :) that tells me that there are interesting issues to solve

Could anyone help me understand the levels for SEM role in Comcast Engineering Center India?

I attended a couple of rounds of interviews for Software Engineering Manager 1 (as the JD said) on a quick schedule and wonder if I should have asked next level instead.

YoE - 15, Hands-on EM, can code, do project and people management
Tech - AWS and .NET

Also an indicative range of CTC I should ask for will be helpful. Currently I'm underpaid at 20.1L as I worked in the same company for 12 years.

I had a final round interview scheduled ( 2 rounds cleared ) but i somehow got confused with the timings and did not join it at the designated time. Will this lead to the cancellation of my candidature and they will not pursue further or can I be given one more chance. I informed the HR and apologized and requested for help.

Will they still consider me ? I really want to join the org. Can I do something for them to consider me again

Hi recruiters!
I recently quit my job at a big tech company with good name for a better job at a younger but still famous tech company. Now, 3 months later I’m not sure that the new role is as interesting as they sold it to me. I know I have to give it sometime and talk to my manager (I have shared my concerns with him), but precisely because of his answers, now I’m considering looking for another job. I just found out The FDA banned Juuls in June. Not a Juul smoker, had a puff from my friends once 4 years ago., but how are Cigarettes still OK to be sold, but not Juuls? Even if you say they can’t be sold to kids. I believe they’re already not as they fall under the same sale regulation as Cigarettes, but if not, then pass a law. It just looks to me like it’s just Cigarette companies killing off their competition
