Tips for lateral negotiation? Does the recruiter typically do it for you or are you expected to negotiate on your own. Not trying to negotiate salary (market) but other things.
4 years at Accenture were stressful, left to go to Deloitte for $22k salary bump and hope for better culture, then COVID layoff happened. If I try returning to Accenture, which is the best division to try returning to (with generic consulting skills) and why? Not looking for "division spirit/pride," looking for insight into which divisions have better pay/culture/WLB/etc. (constructive replies only please, I realize I sound like a 🤡)
Currently in International tax S1 but trying to move into M&A tax. Do you know which firms are hiring for NY? And what the compensation is like?
I've got 2 offers, Deloitte India : 10 fixed +10% variable Tech mahindra : 12.15 fixed + 10% variable I was thinking to ask Deloitte to match the counter offer. What are the chances of getting it. I realized I only enjoy chasing higher comp. Job switches every 2 years, always looking out for the next bump… it has taken a toll on my mental health. Tried to get hobbies to distract but I find myself back at websites checking comp numbers. Any suggestions to get out of the race?
Hello — Looking to crowdsource some pros & cons from this knowledgeable group. I have two opportunities. 1: FAANG in Product and 2: Big Pharma. Compensation is more or less equivalent (~300-350k range with Pharma heavy on cash, FAANG heavy on RSUs). What should I be thinking about (long-term trajectory, WLB, future exit opportunities, other)? Appreciate the input in advance.
Is there a concensus on weather the 200k mba cost is a positive or negative ROI for those that are already in a post-mba role and will not get much of a pay bump from the mba? Assuming the post mba salary will be pretty much the same as if the person stayed for another 2yrs
Which advanced non-MBA degrees are the most common at your firm? If recruited from a grad program with a non-MBA degree, did you start at the same level, salary, compensation track as an MBA recruit?
My local zoo and park system is looking for an Internal Audit Manager. 5 years experience, CPA preferred. Salary range is $60-75k. Are they completely unrealistic about what someone would be willing to make for that position as a CPA??? Like I've been an auditor, CPA for 8 years now, been a supervisor and a lead. I'd want double.
How important is getting a Six Sigma Green/Black belt? Does it make a difference in comp/offers/projects/promotion?
Anyone have menstrual complications after their covid vaccine so bad they ended up calling their doctors? What did they do for you? I have had my period for 6 weeks straight after the covid vaccine. I worked with my doctor for YEARS to get my cycle and body where it needed to be (endometriosis) and have been on a pill so things were finally consistent and going great until the shot. I am miserable, scared and in pain. Just need to know I’m not the only one and things will get better.

Hey mummas, I'm struggling with how I feel about my team at work. None of them, including my manager, have children and they just don't get it. I'm pregnant with my third and my manager has never once asked me how I'm doing, only ever refers to it in terms of me 'leaving' for maternity leave so he'll be a resource down. Never once asked how I'm coping with juggling wfh & full time caring for my children through covid, and icing on the cake my baby just recently.. (continued in comment)

Customer Engineer offer in Austin around $225k TC for 4 YOE Base $130k Bonus $60k GSUs $140k Thoughts? This seems decent based on my research but couldn't find a ton of data points. What is the career trajectory/opportunity like is a Google CE? Opportunities to move to product later on or will I be heavily soloed within tech? How do refreshers work? For example at other tech companies I've heard only about 10% of a team might receive refreshers each year

Anyone know what kind of experience or certifications I should be aiming to get if I'm trying to break into a pentest role? I just graduated last year and have about a year of sysadmin experience and am trying to get into it asap. So, I'm already applying/job hunting and probably won't get much replies but. Should I be looking at more security analyst/admin roles first? Going for certs? Getting a masters? Wondering what I can do to improve my chances. TIA

Anyone have experience in both biglaw and government? Started out in govt and always wondered about the pros and cons of working at either (eg. firm has higher comp, more resources and training, more variety of work, gov't has more predictability and stability and public service mission).
