If only there were companies who ranked schools and posted annual rankings of all schools...oh wait
But in all seriousness the public ivies are:
1. UC Berkeley
2. UCLA
3. Michigan
4. UVA
5. William & Mary
5. Texas / UNC
And then heavy hitters in certain areas:
- Georgia tech, Illinois, University of Washington for engineering/computer science
- Purdue engineering
Yeah, having been associated with both U of Washington and UNC, Washington is or should be higher on most rankings.
Is Google down?
In no order:
University of Texas
University of Michigan
University of California system
Georgia Tech
UVA
UNC
University of Wisconsin
University of Illinois
Clemson
University of Washington

Penn State! Woo! Jk. But really your edit opps between a Penn State and Wisconsin aren’t very different. Big Ten is clearly NW and Michigan, the next tier is relatively even.
Consultant 2, I was at Penn State when it happened. The university organized and rallied behind the victims to show their support. Yes, a few individuals attempted to cover up the terrible human being that was Sandusky. However; that shouldn’t reflect poorly against the hundreds of thousands of fantastic people that have graduated from the institution.
