No sense. Mostly consultancies have pay bands that are cohort leveled. City doesn't matter. So lower cost of living city means greater effective pay
This question makes no sense
BCG - yeah, most consultancies at or around our tier have that type of pay structure. At Big 4 and others, pay is also impacted by city. When I was at EY, I earned more in NYC than my peers in DC. That being said, OP, this should be a fairly obvious answer.
NY, San Fran, LA?, DC, Chi, Atl?
I was at ACN. Moved from tier 1 to tier 2 city. No change in comp because was in both bands. It isn't different salaries for different cities. Just slight variances in band. You can have the same salary in many cities.
