Recruiter reached out about a role at a company I was fired from as an intern. The role is in another department than where I originally worked. This was 3 years ago.... do I have a shot?
Paypal Have a few case-based interviews coming up for PayPal role. Any suggestions on what type of cases to expect, industry focus, etc.?
Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Already did my research but the range is kind of all over the place for experienced hires so just want to have a ballpark. Thanks!
How do you determine if you are being compensated according to market value for your role and experience level? I have recruiters offering me 30k to 40k more …. So is it realistic to say that is market value? Or is there more too it that I am missing? Should I approach my current employer (during evaluation period) with the figure recruiters are giving me as a baseline for market value or is that a poor approach to compensation?
Any EY🐠 can clarify what your Service Deliver Center is? See a role under “consulting” but the description says SDC so not sure if it’s aligned to consulting/advisory or an entirely different service line under service delivery center (which are 2 different things at D).
I can honestly say that working from home these last few years has been the best thing that’s happened to my career as a producer. I never realized how distracting being in an office was. Now, I actually can focus on bidding, scheduling, reviewing contracts, and all of the stressful parts of production WITHOUT having to factor in code switching and a commute. I left my agency producer role for a fully remote producing role and I’m just….thrilled. Anyone else refuse to go back to office? 😩
Was hired by a Big 4’s M&A tax practice to start in the Summer away from home. But I just recently received a tremendous offer with a Big law tax group in my hometown and there is no way I cannot take it—I’m a JD/LLM. How should I go about notifying the hiring partner at the Big4? Are there any repercussions I should be worried about? Pleas help.
I feel like I’m getting left behind at work. This girl who is my age started on the same day as me & in the same position. She seems to be doing more work and working on cooler projects than me. She’s in the office and I’m wfh bc I live w a divorced sick parent and I just generally feel insecure and that she’s getting noticed more by our boss/team. I feel like I have been raising my hand to do things and helping people out w projects/jumping on opportunities but I can’t shake this feeling. Help!
I had a final round interview with Blackrock about 3 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything. I’ve reached out to the recruiter and hiring manager for updates but nothing. Is this normal? Just confused why they can’t tell me I’m cut or they’re still deciding…
Our firm is going to be hiring after 10/15! 55-65 hour weeks during busy periods. Primarily looking for seniors and up, but we will also consider experienced staff. Firm is located in Los Angeles but remote is also a possibility (I’m fully remote and so are a few others). Clients we serve are ultra high net worth, real estate investors, and the entertainment industry. DM if you’re interested.
Is McK hiring Digital people ?
Just finished MBA; my start got delayed to November. I got another job in the meantime. Analyst role, I was crazy overqualified for it, but they’d take me knowing I was leaving in 4 months. Better to include this on my resume going forward, or to have a 4 month gap?
3 years in consulting + 2 years in mba + 2 years in consulting + exit into F500 live happily ever after. Does it ever seem...a little boring? Like just walking down a path
Would you say H/S grad are held to higher expectations than anyone else given the same role? For example, if someone from H/S landed MBB/T2 and then someone from a T15 landed the same role. Would the H/S person be held to higher standards and be expected to perform more?
BCG 🐠 Can anyone please offer a referral? I have 2-3 YOE and have been prepping for cases/interviews for quite some time. Looking to finally get that interview and bring it home! Thanks in advance!
Does anyone work for Gartner consulting. Recruiter reached out to chat about associate partner role. What does that role equate to at the big 4 and what’s it like working for Gartner? Culture etc.
Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? I'm looking for recommendations for two areas: 1) in general laying the groundwork in a startup to have the tools and especially processes in place to scale, and 2) tactical focus on building a SaaS project. I've been promoted into a management role from Dev roots, so need to learn more PM processes to be an effective manager in day job, plus would like to start building my own SaaS solution.
Was offered a job at a public university in another state to do communications, wondering if this means it’s unlikely I will be laid off/furloughed. Is that something I should even ask? Currently at an agency in a safe role (or so I’ve been told) and don’t want to leave for something less stable
What is the best certification to pursue in this area? Looking at SHRM-CP but want to learn more about others.
Forensic accounting has always been an extreme interest of mine. Does anyone here work in forensics that can give some information on it? (Do you like it? Worth getting CFE? What type of work? Etc.)
What’s the correlation between compensation & happiness? I have never been a very happy person (depressed from time to time) and my comp is only 150k. What compensation do I need to reach so that I can become immediately happy? 200k, 300k, 500k?
Interviewing at Mckinsey. Need help with case interview prep. Any suggestions beside self-help books?
Help! Tips and tricks for managing a poor performer? I’ve never had a poor performer on my team before. I really like this person on a personal level but I just don’t think she’s in the right role. She doesn’t have the skill set for her job and she’s not learning it … but she’ll victimize herself and blame everyone else including me for her inability to do the role. HR isn’t so helpful… this gives me so much stress
Is working at FAANG in a product role the equivalent of MBB in consulting? Meaning as in once you leave, you can jump levels at another company?
I understand roid rage from airline employees attacking overbooked passengers or mothers with strollers more than I understand how a new American Airlines plane does not have power or wifi
Anyone on that CFE grind?
Why is US healthcare so expensive?
