You don’t play sports 60 hours a week. The game is enough practice. Take feedback and improve.
Thanks for your input
My attitude has always been to push my boundaries and try and learn on the job by finding low risk areas to stretch. For example, rather than waiting for your principal to give you a story board, ask if you can take a stab first, practice thinking through the end messages, and get feedback. Ask for opportunities to present in meetings with senior people and do it ahead of time so you can practice and de risk the situation for your leadership. Keep doing things that are "not your job" and find mentors who will give you that amount of rope and coach you.
This will give you all sorts of practice for what it's going to take to succeed at the next level(s) and if done right and with initiative can be low risk and great learning

I take notes on what went well / didn’t go well and what people’s personalities / preferences are like — and then I review them every week.
Observe people around you and see what skills/techniques they use that feel valuable to you and learn to incorporate them into your own day-to-day.
