What are thoughts on using leveraged ETFs instead of crypto? I would like to get into crypto but it seems administratively burdensome. I could invest in some leveraged ETFs (UPRO, TQQQ, UDOW, UMDD, etc) and get potentially high returns. Anything I would put in there would be like crypto, just investing what I can afford to lose.

Search “hedgefundie’s excellent adventure” on bogleheads. That’s the right way to do leveraged ETFs IMO. (Spoiler: you increase the risk adjusted return by balancing with a leveraged long treasury).

I wouldn’t compare that to crypto though. And honestly I wouldn’t have either heavily weighted in my portfolio if FIRE is the goal.

Yeah! Here’s a few weeks worth of direct comparison.

What about crypto do you feel is administratively burdensome?

I DCA into BTC and ETH and have limit buys set up on coinbase pro. It was pretty quick to get accounts open, just have to scan a license to validate ID.

I don’t think leveraged ETFs are at all comparable to crypto. You are just taking a riskier play at the same asset classes you are already invested in.

If you are just looking for something that is a higher risk play i suppose it would fit the bill.

For me, this isn’t about diversification right now, but that is a good point. Ideally, I would like to set it and forget about it.

Make sure to take into account volatility decay. That being said I’m a big UPRO + TQQQ guy who dumped a ton in during March of 2020. Will start to deleverage my portfolio and I might diversify into crypto and normal ETFs

Any litigators here (ethically and legally) invest in publicly traded companies that they actively represent? I would like to, not because I am scheming to make an easy buck, but because on a personal level I believe in the company and its product. Is there a way I can invest without getting in the crosshairs of regulators/enforcers for insider trading? Some kind of disclosure? My firm's policy on this generally uses the textbook insider trading language and leaves it to individual judgment.

Hi guys. Quite tensed regarding the tax that I would need to pay for my salary. So I have posted my offered compensation by IBM .
So my taxable income is: 16,50,000(Income) - Standard Deduction(50,000) - 80C Deductions(1,50,000) - Interest on Edu Loan(48,500) - Professional tax(2400)
= 13,99,100.
So anyone who is familiar with this tax deduction, can u plz tell me how much tax I would need to pay per month?
Any valuable input would be of immense help.
