I really wish the Partner would read the deck, or at least the exec sum, before improvising. Always nice to have to cook the numbers on 3 weeks’ worth of analysis because someone had a gut feeling on what the insights might be.

1. If you reconsider deliverables / analyses you have already approved, own it. We understand that you may have picked up additional client intel or you’ve had another idea, but we can’t read your mind. Don’t blame us for not picking up context I was not privy to.
2. We appreciate that your time is limited and have no interest in wasting it. Please be patient in letting the team get their questions answered. The feedback you’ve provided may not be initially clear and we’re trying to prevent giving you sub-par product.
3. Genuine thanks and compliments on a job well done really go a long way. Especially after you know the team has worked super hard to meet a tight deadline or has delivered quality effort.

1. Don’t have team updates meeting every day post 6 pm. Have a work life balance in you own life. Seeing you achieve it makes us hopeful
2. Share your success story with team. Tell us what you did right (and wrong) to get there
3. Talk to the person in the team you think has it in him/her. Some of us need that validation
4. Pay attention to your health. We look up to you.
