I work for a county attorney’s office with 14 attorneys and we do not bill. I rarely work over 40 hours per week. I had a federal case over the summer and put in extra hours for a few months due to right breadlines, but that’s not typical. It’s a great life!

And by right breadlines, I mean tight deadlines 😂

I imagine it varies a lot based on the position and office.

Some government offices are very relaxed, barely working 40 a week, if that. Others work way more. Something more suited to figure out in the interview than anything else.

I'm at a Plaintiff's doing about 50 hours a week, no billable hours. I don't work on weekends.

like

Plaintiff? My hours are around 9-6 and maybe another hour after dinner, and 3ish hours on Saturday.

Not plaintiff -like in house at the city.

Hoping to get some thoughts on the below options:
Current: Consultant at Economic Consulting firm (~$115K all in) with likely promotion in Spring 2021. Don't love the specific type of consulting I'm doing (niche and not what I want to be doing long term)
Alternative #1: Valuation analyst (so not client facing) at top PE firm. Role would be based in NYC (~$110K all in)
Alternative #2: Consultant for boutique strategy consulting firm (final round this week; research indicates range of $150-190K)

Hi Fishes,

Two weeks back, I had cleared L1 and L2 rounds with Deloitte. Also got the mail from HR to share documents as well but after that there is no communication from HR.
Is it normal with Deloitte to take this much time or should I assume that they might have got somebody else for the job?

Mid-level looking for advice on difficult situation. Working for a partner who purposely ignores certain cases (and deadlines) in favor of working on others. I constantly follow-up and send reminders to push the case forward, all to no avail. Partner is now sending CYA emails and will not respond to OC (only dictates emails for me to send). Ideas for dealing with this?

So I got 2 offers, 1 at a well-known firm (that I previously worked at, not as an atty) that offered 80K plus full benefits (100% health coverage, PTO, sick days, discretionary bonus & 1800 billable req.) Their a little old school in their methods but I do see the younger gen. coming in to make changes. 2nd offer is at a newer firm however i’ve heard great things, and they offered 80k, unl. PTO, 1500 billable hours, bonus incentives qrtrly, & 50% health ins. WHY can’t I make a decision? HELP
