I flew to Roc once and the return trip wasn’t delayed

I once paid $1500 for a return flight from Indianapolis to Cleveland.

Recently paid $1600 for a return flight from Calgary to Houston. Ain’t no shame in the game.

Unexpectedly getting stuck overnight in a war zone (in the literal sense) during a business trip. Couldn’t sleep for weeks after I finally made it back home. On the positive side, I can now put everything else into perspective. Difficult work situations don’t seem so bad after all.

Not that crazy but I remember a particular convo, staring at the departures board during a week of travelling to a new country each day. Me: “umm, where are we flying again?” Colleague: “Frankfurt” Me: “Right, right.... where are we?” It was a long week. Our record was 4 countries in one day.

Lol have had similar. I once got to Heathrow and it took me five mins to remember what country I’d just flown in from (I’d been in 4 that week).

Flew in late to Pittsburgh one night and ended up in the middle of a furry convention.

Yep, apparently my hotel was one of the destinations at the con. I started wondering when I saw the Kylo Ren-as-an-animal standup in the lobby. The guy getting in the elevator with a fox tail sticking out of his shorts cemented it.

I once got this gig in consulting... ✈️

Well maybe start with yours?? What kind of crazy are you looking for? I've got too many to remember. Not my wildest but I'll start with being invited to a (I assume) unlicensed poker trailer by a client.

Had a co-worker that flew 30 hours from the other side of the world (with a stopover) only to receive a voicemail upon landing telling him to get on the next plane back to the client. Think he was on the ground for 3 hours.

Not me but a Manager once told me about a trip in Charlotte during the protests/riots that was happening in the city.

I am leaving the classroom. I don't want to manage so many humans at one time, anymore. What jobs were you able to transition into?

There has been brewing division for decades now but Trump has torn the remaining shreds of unity and decorum this country had. It wouldn’t have cost anything to make a unifying and pacifying statement. Reminding us all that we are all Americans and despite our checkered past, the goal is to forge ahead as one united nation.... I was sold on Trump in 2015 and voted for him cos I found him different and entertaining. Now, I’m filled with extreme disgust!!

This is more of a Quote of the Day, but that’s how us old-schoolers do memes. “There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge’.” -Isaac Asimov

Made plans for my close non-lawyer friend to visit. Found out she is unvaccinated (hasn’t gotten around to it - she says). The handful I hangout with are vaccinated. Majority of my office is vaccinated - or required to wear mask entire day. Struggling to find the words to cancel plans until she’s vaccinated. She is sensitive. Any advice?
