This is my first Mother’s Day without my mom, fortunately my husband & kids have done extra for me this year.

Praying for both of you ! I’m glad you family showed you extra love and support this year!

Spent time with my 93-year-old Mom on Friday (and brought her a gift). I hadn’t seen her since November 2019 (because of COVID). Laughs, love, and lots more laughs! So grateful.

like

Same here! I get to see my momma tomorrow after 18 months. Feeling grateful.

I am estranged from my mom( sadly by her choice) However, my daughter bought me these fabulous scented bath salts. She drew me a bath and brought me a martini in the tub. Fabulous!

Took my Mama out for brunch then reminisced with my 90-year-old grandmother. The Italians, have so many good stories, but we don’t know always like to share them. 😉

Sent my momma a nice dinner, should get to actually visit soon.

We went to church, as usual, then spent some time at home together with the siblings and parents. We always do a little "ceremony" where we read our card to her (and give her money! LOL)

So sorry for your loss. I say it all the time how fortunate I am to have both my parents still alive , while many of my friends have lost one or both parents. They are both 82, and I see them deteriorating then and am sad already because I know the inevitable is close,
And we keep telling each other howl much we.love each other. And they keep telling me... they live me. I am sorry for you. The biggest thing I tod my mon was how much I’m going to miss her. We have talked on the phone every.day since I married 27 years ago. I feel for you. God bless you and your fam and may God you peace. Think of all the good things she did and what you loved about her .

My mother passed away in 2017

AES1 so sorry to hear that. So this is the first Mother’s Day without her. It’s only may, so it couldn’t have been long ago. Do you have any children ?

I took my mom out to dinner and a little shopping. I love to give her a present, but she usually chooses it!

Nothing. I was hoping I would get spoiled a little. I did get some nice gifts but, everything else was a normal Sunday

Went on a first date, thought it was like a 6-7 out of 10 connection and with some red flags, but then she was so honest and cute the way we said bye that my heart melted into a puddle. I'm 16 weeks pregnant (1st time). My office (in NYC) is re-starting back to work in 2 weeks. I previously had an exemption for fertility treatments as exemptions were given for any medical reason. Now there are no more exemptions being given & I would need to request one from my LoB head.

I have a new team whom I have never met & if I don't go back now, I wont see them until Dec. I am boosted but my commute is about an hour including bus ride & a 25 min walk each way. What would you do?

Does anyone have experience relocating a semi-independent non-working elderly parent locally?
I’m looking to move my mom locally to take care of her in just over a year. She wants to live alone so I’m trying to figure out best options. So far im leaning towards buying her a small place so I don’t have to sink money into renting her a place and can at least get some equity. But would love perspective from others about best financial options for someone in my position

My husband, who had a successful career but is not yet 40, wants to retire and look after our kids while actively investing our money. I enjoy consulting and will gladly keep working. We also have a good amount of savings, mostly fueled by our frugality during his peak earning years. I feel like I need to support my husband’s dreams while negotiating clear terms. Has anybody been down a similar path and have advice?

I & My girl friend can’t stop fighting for few weeks. We decided to take a little break being away from each other. Stayed away for sometime, we reconciled and on the very first date she told me that she is pregnant through donor insemination. She never told me anything about this plan. How should I react? Breakup? Feeling terrible thinking about breaking up when she is pregnant, but I’m not ready for a baby.

Last night BF and I went out to dinner since neither of us wanted to cook. We were having an enjoyable evening and ran into a former co-worker and her husband who I have not seen since before COVID. Ex co-worker made this odd scene about my "glow up" and even posted to social media a picture she insisted both couples take.
Anyone else ever find themselves in a similar situation?

Question for parent 🐠s. What are the pro and cons of having 2 or more kids. Wife and I are exhausted with our 18 month old (who we both love more than anything in this world!). Hey ladies. I had a miscarriage July 2021 and my cycle started back up not long after. Then in January it just stopped. It’s been 3 months without my period and not sure what could be causing it (I’m not pregnant). My diet hasn’t changed and neither has my activity. I run marathons but I’ve been doing that for years now and it’s never impacted my period prior. I have an appointment to see my OB in a week but wondering if any of you experienced this.

Looking to leave but trying to conceive ( 1 year now and having fertility issue). I am sticking around cause the flexibility is great with me need to see RE and get blood draw. But also concerned I'm just going to end up not leaving if I never get pregnant :( Upcoming year will be a new client for me and I know it'll bring stress. However a new role in industry might not be as easy either and I'll need to prove myself, where as currently I'm already regarded as a high performer and gained trust.

I’ve always been aware of a y guy’s “manhood” and don’t emasculate men. I am adamant about financial boundaries; I was taught that men shouldn’t be asking me for money as a lady and I followed this advice. However, in the instance that a partner might have a financial challenge and you sense that because he doesn’t really tell you, is it ok to offer a helping hand without him asking or should you let him communicate his needs and you respond how u can. Thx

Tips on how to deal with my direct report, the CMO, that won't honor the bonus structure in my offer letter? Over the last 2 months he's come to me with 2 re-negotiations, both lower than the original. I've countered saying I'll accept a lower bonus structure if my base is raised. Not sure who else in the company is involved/aware - he's my only point of contact. I'm 6 mths into the job and enjoy it, but this is a major red flag. Should I find a new job or hold my ground and see what happens?

I just recently resigned my teaching position for a position in another state to be closer to family. I will be making a lot less money (about 1/2 as much). Am I crazy to give up a high paying teaching position that took me 12 years to get to on the pay scale or is being closer to my family worth the pay cut?
