I’m probably in the top 1% of vision loss that can be corrected with glasses. My prescription is a -10.25. I’ve only met two people with worse vision.
I was also a D1 athlete at a power 5 conference school so that probably put me in the top 1% of the sport.

Math ability. I used to tutor differential equations and vector calculus and the like. Pretty sure that alone puts me in the .1% of math ability globally. Probably not the .01% though. Not like lots of people couldn’t learn all that but few do and fewer need to.

I mean there’s “book smart” and usable smart and while I have the former I’m afraid there’s no correlation with the latter. I’m an electrical engineer by training but even within that very technical field being good at math like that isn’t typically useful, the computer does it all anyway.

Working Memory in the IQ test. Top 2% for the full IQ unexpectedly. It was an interesting test (it was part of a full psych assessment). She would just read off a bunch of numbers and tell me to repeat them back to her. Was fun to use my brain like that

To AA1, my advice would be to challenge your brain all the time. I do jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, kakuro, logic problems, solitaire and more daily. Those are my hobbies (super nerdy haha), but they are great for stimulating different parts of your brain. I also love the Elevate app and this guy posts fun (but difficult 😵) brain exercises on Tiktok

How do you answer the question “what don’t you like / like least about delivery” and you want to say “dealing with difficult stakeholders that can’t make up their minds”. Or what is your best answer to a question like that?

Hey, Fish Folks!

A recent PGPM with 1.5 years of experience with nonprofits in their kitty. Changed my profile to a social enterprise about 3 months back and is working in the CEO's Office - the CTC is 8 LPA.

I know. I know. Calling it a lowball will be an understatement.

My question is what should be my next CTC say after I spend a year in my current company. I want to jump ships and soon - and continue to work in Strategy & Operations or Consulting.

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

Maybe it's just because I'm used to people in the DC area being either fairly preppy or business professional but my girlfriend temporarily lives in Salt Lake City and I have to say is that people are really odd. We are City people so the attraction of the outdoors isn't really significant. Our view is that if we want to do something Outdoorsy, we will just take a trip. Not judging anyone.

Why does it attract such eccentric people?

I share a birthday with a sibling, which I love because it's a reason to be together and because I don't much care about my own birthday anyway. My mom has always made the cake they want, since they're a picky eater. This year I told her (again) that I don't like that, and my husband backed me up during the convo, and she's making an effort to make me a birthday cake I'll really love!! We haven't always had a great relationship and it means a lot to me that she's trying. 🥺
