I will still be single and my ex won't come back.
And you'll find someone much better (and maybe won't be officially not single till next Jan!)

80% chance social distancing ends in the back half of the year in the US, UK, and Canada. EU will take ~weeks longer due to a worse vaccine rollout. Variants (B.1.351 and others) will partially evade vaccines and SARS-CoV-2 will become fully endemic. However, vaccines and past infections will be good at preventing severe disease nonetheless, especially through CD8 T cells. The virus fades into a cold. Some weirdness around international travel persists (though not in the form of vaccine passports).
20% chance variants start to cut into vaccine effectiveness in preventing severe diseases. And then we’re fucked and I have no good solution; this is a borderline apocalyptic situation. NOTE: There is NO EVIDENCE yet that this will happened. Even with B.1.351 (South African variant), the vaccines are EXCELLENT at preventing severe disease, hospitalization, and death.
I have no in-between scenario.
But betting that it’s the second option is essentially betting that this is the first respiratory virus pandemic _ever in human history_ that can’t end itself through the immune system being primed. I’m not willing to bet that that’s what’s going to happen.
Everyone getting 1 year older
That the news will consistently report on some new virus variant or something that might cause us to go back into lockdown and keep everyone living in fear.

Above all else, perhaps just a tad bit of normalcy back to society? That’s an event in of itself.
Just signed a year lease outside of my office city, hoping we don’t go back to normal in 2021 to be honest, too much anxiety and stress waiting to go back in 2020, feel like I just got my life back on track
COVID variant sets us back by another year into regional lockdowns.
