I personally find myself weaving from different industries, using my evovling PR and comms skills, which I love because I get to apply my talent to new verticals and I am constantly learning. However, it’s interesting to me that many companies still want industry specific experience for so many opportunities. These same companies want agility and adaptability in candidates. In my opinion, industries can be learned, but skills & working styles deserve more focus.

How bad do you have to be to not be promoted to senior? I feel like I’ve been learning a lot and getting work done but I still feel worried I might not be promoted come June. Any suggestions that helped you get some comfort that you were in a good spot?

Is it normal for Managers have to take on roles both as a Senior and a Manger at the same time due to shortage in PA. Im at a midtier and a lot of my jobs don’t have Seniors and Partners don’t want to delay these jobs.

I have four years of audit experience and jumping firms to get a manager title because I can. Even if I do get a manager role, I feel like I might not be ready yet. I have done many audits from beginning to finish by myself, but there will be area I am not completely comfortable. Were you very ready when you were promoted to manager? Or did you just fake it until you make it? What is expected as a manager? I incharged and worked with partners to issue jobs directly because my jobs were small.

Hi. A bit new to audit and have a question on a report's opinion.
I came across a somewhat old auditor report (from a very small auditing firm) that listed several instances where employees misappropriated assets within its schedule of findings, yet the opinion was unmodified. Is this fine? I would think it'd affect the opinion not knowing everything that was misappropriated. Could it be that the auditor felt comfortable enough on how much they identified and that lowered the risk?
