Went to London with a one year old. The city is kid friendly. The London taxi cab is so spacious that you can push the stroller into it and park it. Don’t need to worry about folding the stroller.
We mostly took the hop on hop off bus, and used the train once or twice. You also don’t need a car seat for kids to use Uber.
Could always try one of the all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. On site babysitting, food nearby, all your alcohol is prepaid for, and what kid doesn’t like the beach?
Traveling with a 10 month old is easy since you can wear the baby and they’re not too demanding. However,18-24 months old is the hardest time to travel because of the short attention span (we did multiple trips involving 5 hour flights, and it was exhausting). Also the bigger they are, the more likely you’ll need a stroller which means no cobblestone streets, and hikes will be basically impossible. So try to go before 1.5 years if you can.
We’ve heard great things about Greece being kid-friendly. We never did beach resorts before having a kid, but I like the convenience with a toddler. A lot of the resorts in Greece have playgrounds and themed kid’s areas. Some even have a daycare (crèche) and in-room babysitting so parents can do massages or date night.
Sorry to say it depends, but it really does. For some people Paris with a baby would be a nightmare while for others it would be totally fine. So it’s kind of up to you and your SO to decide what kind of scene or vibe you want and to then find a destination that can work.
Paris / south of France (Nice, Marseille) is top of our list. I speak some French, and anything in a big city is pretty easy. Only downside is a 15 hour flight and 6-8 hour time difference.
Do you all bring car seats with you? That seems like the biggest challenge to me
Babyquip looks interesting, thanks!
