DT tax is 40% mandatory. But if your team is going in more you probably will too

Varies by office, the loose guideline is 2 days a week but some people only go a couple times a year. If you’re a high performer, nobody cares as long as you show up to the monthly events (HH, team lunch, etc.).

technically none. most offices encourage 2-3 days/week but it's very loose

Is that 40% at KPMG enforced or kind of loose?

Leadership has done a great job of not explicitly explaining this, so who knows lol

2 to 3 days in my office

Recommended 3 days a week at EY. Key word is “recommended” not mandatory.

I'm not sure I know a single person who goes in 3x per week

RSM encourages 2/3 days/week but personally my team only has 1 person in my office with the majority being in another (20ish person team). I go in about once a month.

GT FDD, come if you want.

Crowe is fully remote.

Just go to the office. KPMG is soft.

Start each class with a few seconds of stillness. It takes consistent practice. Most students will blurt something silly out after about 4 seconds. Expect it and smile. After time is up ask students to notice what they were doing during that time. No shame. Notice and strive to be more still next.

1. Hands, feet, mouth, arms, legs still (a veritable challenge)
2. Close the eyes.
3. Long exhales to bring in the calming chemical acetylcholine.

This was supposed to be the first year EY implemented a firm-wide mid-year bonus which would have been paid in January. Curious if other firms have a mid year bonus (based on their fiscal year) and if so, what have the amounts been historically? Select high performers with high utilization will still receive a little something this year similar to prior years (only ~$5k-10k tho).

What do you think makes more sense:
a) Stay in audit and get M1 promo this year, and then later try to transfer to FDD at manager level.
b) Move to FDD right now as S3, settle in at more relaxed pace but only hit M1 promo in 2 years.

I’m at a MM firm and have been stuck on mostly dental deals 1.5 years now. I’ve asked multiple times to have other experiences, but about 80% of my deals are dental, while new folks joining the firm are on other type of deals. Will I be pigeon holed if I stay on these dental deals? Should I leave at this point? I don’t hate it here deals, but I don’t want to be pigeonholed and hurt my career by staying.

FDD Or M&A Tax is better?

Been working in Big 4 FDD for a little under two years, interviewing past 2-3 months for FDD, strategy, and IB. Received an offer from a MM FDD group for a 25% pay bump, but mainly looking to pivot out as I’ve burned out of FDD and want to move into a more finance focused role. Currently moved into second rounds at a senior strategy role for a F500 and case study stage for two boutique IB’s.

Would it be dumb to turn down the guaranteed FDD role and see how the others turn out?

Imo, given turnover RLs should communicate base comp changes today and bonuses later once available. Stop the turnover pipeline.
