I got mine their necklaces for the wedding day, little hangover kits, matching zip up sweatshirts from a cool local brand (most of the bridesmaids were visiting the area, and they were convenient for wearing over to the venue), and weekender totes with their initial on them. I gave the bags after the rehearsal dinner so they could use them the next day for getting ready if they wanted. I know they still wear the jackets a lot. I tried to get things they could reuse that weren’t wedding themed.

I did a fun little piñata with the candy and a card inside and then a $30-40 necklace that they could use anytime!

I bought them self care kits as part of the proposal (face masks, cosmetic bags, etc), and planning to buy them dresses for the ceremony! Didn’t think about additional gifts beyond that

like

Bought them a set of pearls (and ended up being around $50/person) to wear the day of the wedding and I know at least a few have worn them since!

Monogrammed accessories case!

Oh I like this idea

I got them Kendra Scott necklaces, monogrammed winter blanket scarves, and matching denim button downs with their initials monogrammed at the left cuff to get ready in. I took advantage of Black Friday shopping - there will probably be plenty of post-Christmas sales you can take advantage of too!

like

Monogrammed Yeti mugs with pre-mixed cocktails (on the rocks brand). I also paid for their dresses, shawls, and rental coats (it was a winter wedding).

I’m struggling with this too. I don’t want to get the usual jewelry or anything. I got robes to get ready in but that’s more for me/pictures than a gift

like

We got embroidered LL bean totes with cute beach related items (summer wedding near a beach). I use the tote all the time! By far my fav gift. I have robes and stuff but I don't really use them.

like

My cousin did the LL bean totes for hers years ago and I still use mine a ton! It’s a good gift and it holds up well.

I didn't know this bowl existed until today...
Anyway, heading to YS next week and booked rooms within their lodges - old faithful and canyon lodge.
I just noticed that the room said "up to 6" and I have a party of 8.. and the two extra are kiddos.
We all have our sleeping bags etc.
My question - does anyone know if they actually verify how many people checked in?! Can I sneak in the 2 kiddos?
(I don't want to do this but everything is sold out everywhere for me to book something else!)

Need help evaluating an offer. Currently at BCG a few months away from promotion to Consultant (post-MBA role, but I don’t have an MBA). Comp at BCG would be $200-$225k ish. Have a tech offer that’s remote in strategy. Really love the company and the team, but all in comp including equity is $170k, so would be a pretty big hit. Would love everyone’s thoughts on this kind of offer in general for someone in my position and how to think through remote as a benefit.

Can I assume that once I receive an offer that it’s fairly unlikely to get revoked during negotiations, etc? Due to recruiting timelines could be in a situation where I get an offer but not enough time to negotiate/accept before other offers expire🤞

Hi Fishes,
I wanted to know that how much salary range I can expect on the below parameters.

Exp: 4.1 years
CCTC - 5.84
Role - Data Engineer
Tech stack - Azure cloud technologies : ADF, ADLS Gen 2, Azure Databricks, Azure Logic App, SQL (Basic level) , Spark/Pyspark (Beginner)

Current Offer: Accenture for 9.98 LPA (8.25 LPA Fixed and 21% variable) for level - 10.

I know it is quite low for level 10 but as the CCTC was low so couldn't do much. Appreciate your inputs.

Additional Posts in The Wedding Bowl

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)

My partner and I are planning to elope. We want the wedding and the trip that will go with it to be for us. That being said, we want to throw a party of some kind to celebrate with our friends. We're pretty lost as far as the general etiquette around this goes. Do you have to tell venues it's for a "wedding" reception? Is it expected that we will still make a gift registry?

I’m excited for my wedding but it’s almost 9 months away and I started planning it over a year ago. However, whenever I’m around friends/family it’s the only thing people want to talk to me about. It’s constant and generally there’s not many updates to give & I’d just rather talk about other things. I work full time & I’m in school right now so I’m stressed about those things and I don’t know how to communicate that I’d just rather not talk about the wedding without sounding ungrateful/happy

Please help - My fiancé’s side of the family is huge and we’re having a really tough time finding anything close to our budget for 200-250 people. Has anyone found any venues in the Catskills/CT/MA/even PA that don’t require their own food/bev? Also general reassurance is great too 😞

Help- my FBIL is refusing to rent a tux for our wedding because he already owns one. It is a different tuxedo. We would like everyone in the same tux, which I don’t think is crazy to ask for? It’s not a financial issue and it’s not some sort of weird style. 11 other men will be in the rental, it will be obviously different. We’re paying a lot for formal pictures and while this isn’t a tragedy by any means, it is upsetting to my fiancé and I, especially as we ALWAYS go with everyone else’s flow.

I got engaged recently and I don’t want a wedding, so it will likely be courthouse. However, I’m toying around with the idea of a close girlfriends party (not sure whether it’s a bridal shower or bachelorette type of thing). New to this so bear with me. I have really close friends across 2 continents and that would mean having two separate events/ party. Has anyone here had a similar thing where you didn’t have a wedding event but a separate party for friends? How did you pull that off? TIA.

We don’t think our situation is complicated- neither of us own a home/cars, but have some investments, both expect some inheritance eventually, and both get a chunk of equity from work that we’d like to call out. We’ve already discussed in depth how we want to split things.
