Lol 25 million by 40. Man you’re in for a reality kick on your first layoff
I was thinking more like $2.5m liquid by 35
For the young kids out there, life don’t always go to plan. Like when the first wife takes half of your 25 mil in the divorce and your cranking out 25% in after tax income in child support. Set a small goal. Say enough to throw off 100k after tax. That means you can live modestly and do whatever you want: paint, travel, fees kids in Africa, whatever makes you happy. 2 mill at 5% gets you that. Anything above is gravy and you should treat it that way.
Financial independence is my biggest milestone - the point at which the return on my assets is greater than my expenditure. Points on the way include maxing out my employer matched pension contribution, getting my savings rate to 75% of my take-home pay, and getting my gross income over £100k. Next on the list are buying a house, paying off the mortgage (value prob about £400k). After that, I can do what I want with my life.
