I, a childless woman who does not plan to have kids, am jealous of the parental leave parents get to take from work from choosing to have a child (a big life event). I 100% understand that they are working in a different way by taking care of the baby and being deliriously worn out in the process, but it makes me sort of jealous that unless I have a kid there is no life event that I can take ~3 months away from work to focus on and enjoy, plus have my hours prorated and a job to come back to.
What’s everyone’s top five quick nutritious meals for your kiddos? I feel like my kid has been eating the same five meals forever. Need fresh ideas. Much appreciated!
The US should have 1 year of paid parental leave- and taking the leave should be mandatory.
How many months does your firm give you for maternity/paternity leave and how much do you get a month for childcare reimbursement?
Small rant with a small foreword that I’m so thankful that men get paternity leave. I really am. It’s just really frustrating to see the 6th person in the last 3 months come back from their leave with new certifications. It makes me feel like while I’m out on maternity leave and simply healing and feeding my baby, I’m going to be behind and asked why I didn’t gain new skills while out. I guess life isn’t fair and hope people know not to expect that from me. 😒
First class: great. Baby next to me in first class: not great. Baby next to me in first class spills OJ on me: super duper not great
Just got a faint line from a pregnancy test and wondering, at what point do people typically tell their boss / team?? This would be our first child.
Hi, I’m currently on parental leave and interested in doing some minor side huddling like case coaching or college essay editing etc. Something consultants can do well and easily. Are there known websites/ forums to offer these services and get connected to clients?

Hi moms .. has anyone spent your Mat leave alone with your new born ? SO doesn’t have much leave and I am worried whether it will be too much to be alone with a baby all day and I am a FTM to be .
Do you have to prove how old your infant is in order to get maternity or paternity leave and is there a limit? My husband and I would like to stagger our leave.
Microsoft 🐟 I’m joining soon and curious to know about the parental leave policy. Are you able to take leave within a year of your start date/is there a waiting period before becoming eligible for the leave? Thanks in advance!
Looking for baby-led weaning book / resource recommendations. Baby only 3 months but would like to inform myself! Thanks in advance!
Is a financial advisor the correct person to talk to about, and strategize with regarding creating a safety net for a parent who doesn’t have one for themselves? I don’t have a ton of resources to throw at this, but feel something needs to be in place. Thanks!
It's my first day of maternity leave and I'm still waiting for labor to start. I feel guilty for leaving my team before absolutely necessary. Taking Teams off my phone hurt my soul. 😣 C'mon and get here, baby! Mom needs stuff to do!!
Less than 3 weeks til due date and feeling kind of depressed. Work has scaled back significantly in preparation for baby so I'm bored and Omicron has forced me to isolate more just to be safe given how close I am to due date. Is this normal? Advice on getting through these next few weeks?
Did anyone here have a kid before, during, or after an MBA? I’m in banking and am considering doing an MBA in 3 years when i’m 27. My biggest concern with that plan is that i’ll just be starting off a new post-MBA career in the age area where I would like to start a family (~29). I definitely know I want to have at least 1 kid before 30 but am conflicted if pursuing an MBA will upheave those plans or if I’ll have to choose between career ambition and family
Anyone have a child with a hearing loss? Looking to connect with someone with some practical advice on hearing aids.
What is your “I made it purchase”? I.e. a boat, Rolex, high end car, classic car, etc. what have you dreamed about since being a kid that in your head once you get it, you know you have made it in life?
Is it beneficial to have health insurance from both spouses, vs choosing the better one and opting out of the second? Why/why not? This seems like a silly question, but it’s our first time with both of us being staff in a decade. We have a kid, if that affects your answer.
In a predicament need some thoughts: I’m getting offered a new role (not a promotion, just a new role within my project) that has more lead level responsibilities. It seems if I take this role and do well at it, I could potentially get promoted mid year or end year. Now, this is coming at an interesting time when I was already looking to transition to a new company - an immediate transition will get me a quicker salary bump that I would otherwise have to wait a bit to get at my current company
What are MBB starting salaries for analyst equivalents in Singapore now? Would love any data points people have!
How does the partnership comp work at EY? Whats the buy in? Do they give interest free loan for buy? Is it only profit sharing or PS + salary. Also how to negotiate when offered partnership?
I am transferring from USI to US and am eligible for Dropbox. One of the documents required is an employment verification letter. My USI employment verification letter shows my India office location, salary and designation. Can I use my offer letter from the US firm as employment verification? It shows my location, start date, salary, and designation. Thank you.
At a boutique firm for just over a year, I know this isn’t the best place for my growth, but a promotion is coming. Am I better of sticking around or try to go to MBB or big 4 at an associate level?
Now that you got your bonus and are ready to leave for a better work-life balance HMU for a referral to a top tech practice, v30, either coast or remote. Willing to part with some of the referral fee ;)
Has anyone here been laid off due to covid19? I was, along with 100 people from my office, through a 6 minute zoom call.
Which of the big 4 firms audits UPS?
Hi, planning for my in laws to get vaccinated with covid and flu shots in the US. They were already vaccinated for covid in India 6 months ago. They have international insurance and no US SSN. Can they get free shots? Both are over 60 and we live in Chicago area
I was a Xoogler intern in another country, and I recently applied for a role in the US. Does it help? Do they know? Would it be better if I got a referral?
30 y/o, married, 1 kid on the way. Have about $250k cash sitting in my checking account and finally deciding to invest (already doing maximum retirement contributions and will do 529 when kid is born, so this would be in a taxable brokerage account). I have no idea where to start. I see a bunch of references to vanguard funds, etc. (mostly VTI and VOO), but wondering if folks have other recommendations. Really don’t want to pay an advisor, but I might if I can’t get comfortable doing it myself.
First year out of undergrad. Tips on how much to save for retirement? Other goal is to buy property in five years. Not sure if I should be going full Roth 401k or Trad (or less than full)
ACN- Has anybody charged in the Chase Sapphire Reserve Annual Fee instead of upgrading to the Amex platinum or getting the yearly lounge access as a Manager Perk? Run into issues?
Anyone work for Whirlpool’s new in-house creative agency ProjectX? Curious about the culture for women and especially moms there. Is it cutthroat and inflexible or are they catching up to today’s remote worker demands?
Current comp is near the top of the band for a role I was offered. If I jumped I would be taking a ~7% increase while I was hoping for something closer to 20%. Is it possible to counter and push past the band? I was offered a raise during my interview process so the original jump of 15% was decreased to 7% based on my new salary.
When do we think it’ll be a good time to start looking for a new role? Will hiring pick back up in the summer?
Anyone willing to do an RSM referral ?
