Me after my first week back in a preschool classroom

Have an offer at Citi for 120K as an AVP in the NY office. Currently making 92K at my current role. Is this a fair offer? I currently WFH pretty much full time at my current role but it seems like this one requires 2-3 days in the office - and this is something I’m very hesitant about. Thoughts on how to approach this?

Reporting to the school building is more dangerous for teachers with risk factors for more severe forms of the disease.
It should be a choice for everyone. Then everyone can do what is best for them and what they and their students need.
I agree that I’d at least like the choice. Not to sound unhelpful, but if we all report to school I will end up spending every spare minute showing other people how to do tech things instead of getting my own work done. My kids will be with my parents while I work even if it’s from home so I would have little to no distraction there. As was said, everyone’s situation is different so I think it should be teacher choice and we should be trusted to make the decision as to which would be a more productive work environment for us.
💯 % agree. I rarely get done on my prep period what I want/hope due to teacher/admin interruptions. On the other hand, at school, the tech folks should be readily available.
I agree with working remotely. I feel I was effective and had more time to interact with my students.
I felt like I could get to know some my 450 students when we went remote. Much more than in my 40-minute weekly lessons.
I'd rather work from home if it's all virtual. I have better equipment and setup there than the school has.
Our district is allowing us to choose to work from home or in our classroom.
Lucky you
I’d rather be at home so I can help my own children with their school work. I can multitask (teach students and help my own kids). If I have to work all day in a building and then come home to help my own kids do their work, I will get burned out quick.
I'd rather work from home. I didn't have the commute which was nice and I had more time to spend with students one-on-one. I also didn't have to worry about using a communal space for things like food.
I’d say your school doesn’t value your health imo
I’m in the same boat. I’m feeling quite optimistic.
I had Xfinity in March. It was slow. I added AT&T w/ a WiFi booster. I also purchased 2 large screen TV’s, and addition monitors. I feel optimistic about working from home.
I'd still have to go into for the lab equipment. Going to my building (without students) is less risky than grocery shopping so I wouldn't mind either way.
Yeah, I'm luckier than every single other person in my immediate family. I worry every day when my husband goes to work.
In our district it’s about accountability. A few teachers did not hold their weight in the spring so now everyone will be onsite where the principal can monitor them.
I was really surprised to find the case of the missing teachers too. My grade team and I worked so hard in the spring. All things considered, we did a great job! I attended virtual PD sessions this summer with staff from other grades or buildings and was shocked to see how little they knew. Evidence they did very little in the spring. I'm fortunate to have much better equipment at home with faster internet. It seems the few lazy teachers ruined it for their many hard working colleagues.
