I am so content in my life with WFH now it will be hard to go back to the office.

like

Agreed WFH has been a dream for me for many, many years and its finally come true.

like

I need to see people again. I really miss being able to swing by desks or mill about in the kitchen. I don't know if that life is over anyway, even back at the office, but I struggle being alone, as I live alone. However, I realllly want flexibility.

likeuplifting

I have not thought about it like that before. It's easier for me to have a sort of "default" on a social life with an office, because I'm not much of an extrovert, but that's a really good point. I haven't thought about aloneness in the context of being able to be more proactive about socializing...at least not in a long time.

That's gonna be a no for me dawg

I'm here for like a 3 days in, 2 days flex.

Can’t wait!! People are meant to be together!!

like

I also can’t wait to go back, be able to talk to teammates throughout the day, get help when I need it without overthinking it, and interact with people in-person again. My coworkers feel really distant, and the work feels intangible when it’s always at home alone

like

In-person collaboration is tantamount to long term success - on a personal and organizational level.

I’m back in the office 5 days a week now but if something comes up (my wife was out of town for two days) I can work from home. I enjoy both for different reasons so no big adjustment for me. Good news is my boss is working to get me a nice big office with a great view overlooking our lobby and awesome natural lighting.

like

i'm sick of working from home all the time. Ideally I'd like to be in the office 3-4 days a week and 1 day of WFH.

like

I can’t wait!

like

Back in the office already and quite enjoying it. New office seeing people again has been great. I still have some flexibility to work from home if family matters demand it.

like

I love working at home and having the opportunity to interact with my 3 babies (ages 1-3) throughout the day. I would rather work from home and pay childcare then go back to the dog and pony show. Plus, I have been able to downsize my closet and sell items since my work abs life wardrobes are now one.

like

So excited for it. No kids and looking forward to being in person with my clients and colleagues.

I think that if a person is really necessary to be on site, it should be considered as 'a priority of physical presence', but many of the current jobs do not require or need physical presence in companies, therefore, the option of doing HomeOffice as well must be present.

It is also important to say that socially it can affect, work is like a new university, and people also get tired or demotivated if they do not have the possibility to interact with other people. Then again: it must be an option by virtue of the roles and responsibilities that each worker has within their corporate context.

Productivity for most employees is substantially lower WFH vs in office. Back to office is bad for me, but good for most.

Could you explain what metrics you have used to calculate productivity at home vs productivity at office? Is this just a bias or do you have concrete data to support your statement?

like

I've rarely teleworked in the last year, because I need to be physically present to do 90%of my tasks. I'm looking forward to coworkers coming back because I rely on many of them to be on site to get my projects completed.

Most folks will continue to telework at my organization but will need to come to the office at least twice per pay period due to federal workforce laws that are outdated.

Been in the office the whole time. Many forget the risks some had to take during this time.

It is way more comfortable to WFH ( no commuting,…) and it is fun and more productive working with people F2F.
It is all about the balance. I am working at the office 2-3 times a week in flexible days and hours.

I couldn’t even count hours I’d already put in. Then they ghosted me. It ruined my interest in the role anyway, but I’m still extremely disappointed with how they treated me.
