Since we are now WFH, there’s no need for smokers to step outside to take smoke breaks. And with WFH, there are back-to-back conference calls, so the though is that with video calls it’s okay for them to smoke during the calls. I could get behind that I think. Thoughts?
Has anyone heard about additional increases to the crisis care? ACN increased us to 160 hours for the year but that’s not nearly enough to cover all the WFH without daycare currently...
What keeps you all motivated to take care of yourself (eating healthy, working out, drinking water, adhering to your skin care routine, etc.), especially in the WFH environment? Any tips for staying consistent? I’m lacking any motivation lately.
I was complaining about wfh initially since it was right in the middle of busy season. But now since things have slowed down and I'm working 40 hour weeks, I don't want to go back 😫
Those who are WFH and traveling internationally for vacation. Should I bring my laptop with me when I go out of the country in a few weeks on vacation? I feel nervous that if I test positive I won’t have my laptop with me to work and it would be a mess figuring things out if I am quarantined internationally.
Basic question from a noob in SF - What is the best home internet provider in SF? What’s your suggestion for the best deal. Wife and I WFH so wanna make sure internet is firmed up!
Can anyone speak to culture of the EC/VC and M&A groups at WSGR? Looking at remote positions. Thanks!

I made final round of interviews at Amazon several months ago but didn’t get an offer because I wasn’t willing to relocate. Now that Amazon is allowing remote work should I reach back out? And if yes, how? They said in their closing correspondence to let them know if my circumstance changed. Do I mention I have a new job or since it’s only been 5 months don’t mention? TIA
Hi! I am planning on climbing, hiking, and wfh in Boulder, Co this summer. Anyone know of any temporary housing? Also open to meeting people, so dm me if you live there and want to hang out.
So peeps, office opening up. What's your plans on moving to Mumbai? Knowing apartment hunting can be a real bitch, some are planning to go back to hometown in the WFH week. i.e work at office at designated week and live in temporary accommodation, and then travel back.
Anecdotally, on here those who are pro Return to Office seem far more likely to be critical of those who wish to continue WFH, but WFH people are not at all critical of RTO people. Thoughts about what that suggests?
Best material to study for the FRM?
Goals for the week?
I am in a situation where my group is about to be laid off. I have not interviewed for 8 years and never in the US. I consider myself extremely talented in the tech field and have contributed to many well used libraries and frameworks but I can’t even get an interview anywhere I apply. Are there any resources to get feedback on what I’m doing wrong?
I am going to have 5 video interviews from 2 companies all in one Friday. Any strategy to be at peak performance in all the five interviews?
Looking at an account manager position but this company separates all aspects of a project (sales, Account Management, Media Strategy, Creative Strategy, campaign management) while I’m used to running all aspects. Are AMs that useful to oversee projects or should I focus more on a hard-skill strategy position? I definitely don’t want to be in sales.
What is your opinion on GARP financial Risk Manager (FRM) certificate? I am considering taking it (as I am FS Risk Consulting), but I am not sure if it really carries benefits. Apparently it is quite a tough study. Is it worth the time or should I invest my time elsewhere? Also do you have learning material you are willing to share :D?
Would you cancel an interview (for tomorrow afternoon) when a partner schedules a meeting at the same time?
🐠 ladies, tips on looking more you age and acting "more senior"? I'm a 29 year old manager, but look about 12 and keep getting mistaken for a grad
First year attorney struggling with my mental health (& suicidal ideation). Got a job at a boutique firm right after law school in 2019 (in an area of the law I had no interest in but bills) and then the pandemic hit and I did not feel supported by the firm while WFH. My mental health declined as did my work product and I’m essentially being let go by the firm. Really struggling with thoughts of being a failure and like maybe I’m just dumb and someone mistakenly let me graduate law school.
My firm has not announced any raises yet even though the market has gone up (A LOT) and firms in the area all have done so. I’ve decided to demand a raise to the compensation committee. But struggling to come with a number. I’m class of 2014 but have gone on four maternity leaves 😂. Any suggestions???? I’m in a smaller city (not CA/NYC/DC etc) and at a pretty big regional firm.

Have you noticed (either in school or in person) that social-distancing and cleaning standards are becoming more lax?
Anyone else feel overlooked as an Asian in the workplace? It’s like you get only the disadvantages of being a minority with none of the benefits.
