Wfh is more tiring than wfw
Do most people here get the opportunity to work from home when not traveling? I’m thinking about jumping but don’t want to lose this perk if it’s not common place.
For those with dogs 🐕- do you feed your dog a lunch? I used to only feed 2x a day, but with WFH, I feel compelled to give him some nibbles when I take a lunch break. 🍔
How is everyone doing with wfh situation? I fell like burning out... More so at home than at work... And then there is love work app?
If my manager is scheduling a 6:00 check in when he’s remote, is he doing it because that’s genuinely when he’s available or because he wants to make sure the team didn’t bounce early
Any thoughts on praying in the office? I’m in the London office and because of some confident bothers, we were able to use conference rooms to pray. Now in my new firm, I’m the only Muslim and so when I do go in, find it hard to find a place. I don’t want to announce it and make a big deal, just want to pray quietly, otherwise I’d have to save my salah for home. WFH has changed this in such a good way but wanted to see if anyone has similar experience or tips?
What's a good billable hour total for 2020? Given covid conditions (we faced slump in work about 2 months) and work from home productivity.
Anyone recommend good insurance providers who are giving good discounts for car insurance in light of covid and work from home ?
Are companies that have publictly stated they will be primary remote work going forward seeing an increased quality of candidates for open in house roles?
Doubledipping. Whose doing it during WFH, how are you managing, and what state are you in? I’ve read about it from both fronts. Unethical, maybe. Working multiple jobs without a conflict of interest, more power to you.
Hello Fishes, Is HashiCorp good company to work? I got offer letter for remote and they are giving RSU as well so is it good to join?
I see allot of job posting for IT jobs have more down to earth reqs than a few years ago. The requirements seem fairly normal. A few years ago most IT job listing were looking for people with "Unicorn" Skills. They were even looking for people with 10YOE for a technology that was out for 5 years. It seems that there are many more openings than a few years ago probably also due to the fact that "remote" work is more than 30%. Is this sellers(candidate) or a buyers(company) market? Thoughts?
Recommendation on weighted blanket? Looking for a solution to my sleeping issues that started since WFH began. TIA
2 month entry level hire on the bench, is it too early to ask manager to work from home on Fridays? I have no real need to be in the office
My appetite has gone way down since WFH - probably due to sitting in the couch and not walking etc. Any suggestions for healthy small meals?

Switched to a smaller firm after being laid off from a big 4 and I miss my old job so much. Even though I like my new job for the most part, I miss the culture, the travel, and the work 😔
New round of layoffs at Digitas? Nice. Maybe you need to cut some of the fat that continues to be protected for some unbeknownst reason!
Hey San Jose fishes, any perfect cafe or restaurant (spacious though) recommenced for a date? Don’t want to go in those small crowded ones...
Got an interview for a non-Tech role at Amazon Prime Video (data and insight). Anyone have any experience with the interviews for these roles at FAANG?

Anyone have advice on how to get better at selling yourself? I've had quite a few interviews/job leads since losing my job in June, but I think I'm struggling to present myself as impressive. I'm slowly realizing my biggest weakness in this industry appears to be that I'm bad at PR-ing myself.
Anyone actually keep their PHR active? I got my cert in 2013 and have done nothing since.
Considering switching as a 5th year from a small litigation practice to transactional role at a different firm. The new firm has stated there will be no litigation. 90% of my current work is cases which a partner is the primary attorney so they will have to figure it out if I leave (I’ll give proper notice). However, I have a small number (10-15) of active cases which are my own. What is the protocol for telling my clients I’m leaving and can’t take them with me?
Is it bad to stay on a project for a year? Been doing the same type of PMO work. Just trying to get 2 years of consulting experience then getting out.
Renegging on big 4 offer for entry level Has anyone renegged on a firm? And if so how do you handle it. I am in an awkward position where I have to accept an offer within two days but I'm also interviewing elsewhere. How do you handle it?
Fun holiday gifts for friends/fam under $50?
What is the average Senior Manager salary at Strategy& London office for Strategy Consulting?
Considering exiting my first consulting team for a lateral into a smaller firm/practice (boutique to boutique): same work, same city, +20% raise. What were some of the questions that helped get others off the fence when considering making the first jump? Love both teams, long-term trajectory is very similar - but, it seems like I simply have to jump to get an add-on raise. Appreciate any insight folks have.
