I feel for the jr’s who have started their careers in this remote world, missing out on all the experience that comes with being in an office surrounded by people and creative work instead of the silo of WFH. Any suggestions on how to keep them engaged and learning without it feeling forced with zoom tutorial sessions?
How is The Martin Agency post-WFH? Heard lots of great things about it in the recent past, but curious since it seems like everywhere went downhill after the pandemic.
Are you guys enjoying this mandatory work from home? Or you are so bored and ready to go back to office?
I went back to the office this month (3/4 days per week) and it’s been a positive experience. Plus it seems that some partners who are going in appreciated it. But the office is a 15 min drive away for me. Some people need to commute an hour plus to be there. Will they be at a disadvantage if they actually try to take advantage of hybrid WFH in the future?
I commenced international remote working to be closer to my friends and family, but now as my team's office is about to reopen, I'm missing the idea of commuting and the sense of community in being part of the 9am rush hour. Are there any other easy ways of building a sense of community? Cheers!
Heading in to offer negotiations for Amazon Web Services Technical Account Manager (remote) with 8 YOE. What should I expect? I checked Levels, looking to calibrate myself against that.
My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
How do you politely ask a new company if you’ll be getting a laptop to wfh? If I’m not getting one I will have to buy a new personal computer.
TikTok or Cepheid Biotech Hey guys, I need to make a decision today on whether I want to start a career as a Talent Sourcer at TikTok or as a Onboarding Specialist at Cepheid, a Biotechnology company. Both in the Bay Area at $35 per hour and both are currently WFH. The TikTok position is less stable and very numbers driven, while the Onboarding position is more “secure” but less exciting. I am overthinking the fact that I would need to be presenting orientations for hours a day, and maybe scared
Anyone find it suspect when some Partners throw around "I'm sure we all would prefer to be in person..." type things? Like do you hate your family or something? Maybe I'm getting to used to remote work 😬
Companies trying to force people back to office = record company execs thinking you can get people to buy whole CDs in an era of streaming individual songs. Times have changed. Deal with the reality.
Partial Work From Home 👌👌
Do you need to live in a city with an ATK office to work? Or is remote supported depending on skill/need?
Associate WFH decides they want to spend all of quarantine (6+ months) in another state, and starts working from their “vacation house.” Associate’s home state does not have income tax, vacation state does. Does associate owe income tax in vacation state for income “earned” in the state? Need a refresher on tax law, and I’m curious. Also just want to feel better about actually WFH like I’m supposed to and I don’t have a vacation house.

Permanently remote employees : how often do you have to travel into the office? Once a quarter? For client meetings (how often)?
What made you snicker, chuckle, chortle, giggle or laugh today? Quiet to maniacal, have at it. To get the obvious off the list... paycheck, hours, unlimited time off, budgets, looming deadlines, and pets on zoom/teams meetings.
For organizations (particularly banks) that have suspended drug testing due to COVID, do you think they will issue a warning / notice period before they resume related programs?
Does asking or receiving high package(100%hike from current CTC but within mid band range in Deloitte) for Manager position also mean, we would be utilized more then 100% and shared between projects and basically fu**ed up WLB and drowned in work..?
1. What is the difference in strategy consulting and advisory (hours, work, companies)? 2. Do the big 4 do strategy consulting or is that MBB? 3. If you’re (hypothetically a first year) in an advisory role, can you switch to strategy consulting at another company?
Hello Fishes I have recently completed my MBA program and I am looking out for a job in Finance profile and I am having 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable profile. Also are there any openings for finance and Accounts Payable in Big 4's or any of the good companies. Any sort of referral or help will be appreciated as I am already looking out for job from last year and not able to get any calls its really frustrating and demoralizing..😔😔
Hi everyone, for those working in Chicago, what are the typical hours at Bain, BCG, and McKinsey? Trying to get a sense of the office culture and WLB while I’m researching new roles. Thanks in advance!
So a company I interviewed with took me to the final round but rejected me for an architect role. Then, two months later the hiring manager hits me up for a manager role he thought I would be a good fit before the job was posted. We had a call and he said he thought I would be a long shot replying back to him. Also, he said everyone liked me and no need to interview. He said he has to post it and let HR do their thing before he can make a final decision. Why post a job if you want me for it?
Husband Relies on Me for Lunch - I know this is dumb, but before the pandemic, my husband ate lunch at the office and I was generally in charge of dinner. He’s super flexible with buying takeout so I never found it annoying. Since the pandemic began though, my husband has begun relying on me to provide him lunch while WFH. I’m busy during the day, and we have different lunch preference schedules. He does not get how annoying it is to me to have to be in charge of his lunch. Am I in the wrong?
Just got laid off today.... anyone hiring account executives? 3 years experience working across integrated campaigns in multiple industries. Hungry and eager to get back into the weeds!!
Interviewed for Deloitte Tech Strategy SC and got a verbal offer for Consultant instead. I negotiated the offer to 120K salary and 10K signing bonus. I’m a boomerang with 4 years ERP consulting but this past year I’ve been doing DEI Consulting. Spoke with former colleagues who rejoined Deloitte and got much higher offers for SC. How do I go back to the recruiter to negotiate further? I suggested that I’d probably sign but needed time to think. Now I’d like to go back and request 140k salary.

EY 🐠: does EY have cost of living salary adjustments or is salary consistent across city tiers?
8 years of experience. In the final stages of a strategy lead role at a software company that sells back office technology to Financial Services firms. This role would report directly to the CEO and primarily be tasked with developing new businesses or ventures for the company. ideation to commercialization. What sort of comp should I be looking at? Previous role was a startup, so I’m not really sure of my market value. NYC-based.

Thoughts on + 1s at client dinners? I think they just shouldn’t be there. A creative asked to bring his gf in front of the crew & client. I felt I couldn’t say no and regret it.
