Has anyone had any success requesting to work fully remote in the federal advisory service line? If so, what are the limitations (future raises, promotions)?
My new job is remote role and looking to move to NJ to save more money. I don't go into Manhattan often and not too social either. But I do stay home a lot and enjoy spacier and nicer buildings. Is there anywhere in NJ that I should look for <1 hr commute to Manhattan and nice apartments? Thanks in advance.
HBS back to fully remote classes for a week 😬
I wrote a rec letter for one of my legal assistants for law school right before COVID got bad and we all started working remote. Ever since then, this assistant has seemingly been slacking. There’s only so much I can actually see/review without seriously micromanaging her. I’ve spoken to her about her slacking at least twice and both times she just brushed it off. I want to withdraw my rec letter, but I feel like it’s too late. She is leaving at the end of the summer. Should I just let it be?
We know all the married people on here gettin’ laid because WFH... or at least they were before someone got on someone’s last nerve. Shout out to the singles who were mid drought pre quarantine...

Can’t lie doing Monday WFH massively reduces that Sunday evening pre-work anxiety. The knowledge that I can wake up at 8am, have breakfast, shower and put washing on and be at my desk 8.50am

What does everyone do to stay fit during the pandemic and WFH? I've never had a consistent exercise routine but I want to start one, however I have a hard time making myself exercise in the morning so that doesn't help. Any pointers appreciated
Is it still a bad time to move to NYC? Would be WFH but wanting to get it over with and get out of parent’s house. Would be coming from FL so assuming it’ll be quite a shock moving there

Is there a difference in salary when applying to the same company for remote work whether the remote location is on New York or Florida?
Which agencies are going WFH?
Hi all, 3 years into MBB and job was taking the toll on me, and we were unable to get pregnant. I forced myself into an internal role to get some breathing space and therapy, and we ended up getting pregnant. But a few months in, I moved back to client facing and it has been absolutely difficult to spend time at home and keep my wife happy. She is expecting some quality time every day for a few hours, and I am just unable to do that. Its probably a combination of the job and also how I
Hi, does one need to know how to swim to do scuba diving? I can float and swim on shallow side but not in deep end but I really want to get a beginners diving certification. Please advice
Moms, I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old. Everyone on my family is vaccinated. What are safe activities to do with these kiddos in the midst of all this covid variant environment. I thought about the pumpkin patch, hiking, the park, and walks as long as we distance from others. I just get nervous about catching colds or a breakthrough covid infection. I’m not paranoid, just risk averse. The whole family got the TSV bug a month ago, and it was miserable. Just trying to be practical, but not a
Has anyone lost motivation to work? After the holidays and a promotion, I thought I would start the year off renewed and ready to go but the opposite is true. Help?
Do you think it’s reasonable to decline a job offer right now to another B4 due to market conditions and the pandemic?
To be a fly on the wall in that client meeting. 360i: Okay, so... before you say no, hear me out... Japanese rockabillies. That’s it. That’s the idea. 7/11: Why? 360i: Maybe you didn’t hear me: JAPANESE ROCKABILLIES. 7/11: I see your point. Sold. I love this spot. https://youtu.be/hBCf83SA9j4

Does international tax services - financial services have better exit opps compared to international tax core?
A partner submitted my resume to her firm’s recruiting department and I got called in for an interview. I’m researching the interviewers and one is the hiring attorney. Is that a good sign or routine? (I haven’t worked in big law to know.)
Any opinions on Armanino? I have an offer from Armanino and other big 4's. Risk advisory and assurance. What I like about the team at armanino is that its very small and I might get more exposure. Not sure about the culture and progression and pay
ACN ALSS Technology Consultant 135k, no sign on bonus, 23 days PTO with enough months at level to get promoted in December. How is the group?
Hi ladies. I work in IT consulting and we don’t typically have to put notes in for billable hours, but a few weeks ago my boss asked me to start entering notes, about what exactly I was working on for client A,B,and C. I just said sure and didn’t ask why. I found out today from other colleagues that no one else was asked to enter notes in for their time. What’s a good way to ask my boss why the new change? I’d at least like to know if I did something wrong so I can improve.
How soon do you follow up after an interview? My interviewers told me to follow up with HR after a few days if I don't hear anything, but I hate being pushy.
Started golf lessons recently and looking for some cute clothes to keep me motivated. Any recommendations? I’m 26F and 5’3”
How are people "networking" now that we are wfh? I mean, you are barely even aware if people still work in the same company. Previously, you at least saw them every now and then at the office but now... They could have fired half the company and I wouldn't know
What practice areas (if any) would be a natural move for a mid-level commercial real estate/finance associate? I started trying to leave my firm in February and, at the time, was super in-demand. Now, with Covid, commercial real estate is slow & I think I'll be stuck where I am for at least another year if I don't make a practice area shift. Are there any other practice areas where my experience would be valuable?
