Living alone in a new city, I thought WFH would be lonely and depressing. Turns out I love not dealing with coworkers AND I've been reconnecting with old friends on animal crossing. This isnt so bad😂
Any fishes working 2 full time jobs simultaneously? What’s your experience like? Heard it’s been trending upward due to WFH.
Any insights into telecommute roles in UnitedHealth in Tennessee and Georgia - job titles at Manager and Director level? Does it mean work from home?
What are some impactful, remote (WFH) volunteer work I can do? I have some extra time on hand and can only think of education/tutoring.
Moms out there wfh with a nanny that have an infant any suggestions for them to keep entertained? Mine is 10 months and I need some ideas for sensory play or just new fun activities for them
Do you give yourself a lunch break when you WFH?
Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!
Continued to be impressed by the Publicis response. We've had processes in place to support WFH for roughly a week. A process for bringing second screens home, support lines, team checks, etc. https://youtu.be/zz2IsWjT2HM
Folks who’ve left ClearView, how is life on the other side, and how long did you stay before you jumped ship? It’s a week where I’m burning, and the fact that I feel so isolated during it makes me want to quit consulting altogether. Would also like to talk to some of you if possible. Never thought I’d say this but I honestly feel unhappy in my job, and I wonder if it is just WFH related - and whether it might get better once the office opens up.

TCS provides me just Rs 400 as Internet Expense Reimbursement ...No plan is available in such a low cost. They also did not provide a single rupee for broadband setup neither they provided any money as Work From Home Setup.. Can anybody explain how can we reimburse these things.... Those who will say it depends on manager kindly stay away.... I have already told my manager that I won't spend a single rupee from my own pocket and I would stop working...They play so much policy policy game so I...
Honestly want to know if I am being unreasonable. My husband and I have worked f rom home since the start of the pandemic. Two kids 100% remote until two weeks ago when school started back up. I had to stop my work at 12:30pm every week day to make lunch for the kids and also made some for my husband to took it to his office nook. I typically don’t have time to stop and eat myself since I’m down at minimum those 30 minutes and I work in a bedroom so the smell of food in there is not desired…
I’m tired. I love wfh. But balancing it with cooking, cleaning, teacher, parent, caretaker - I’m drained. I want to sleep and wake up when it’s all over
it feels like every survey about working from home is (poorly) designed to answer the useless question "would you rather work from home or from the office." I submit that the set of people who prefers to have only one of those two options, always and forever, is the null set. which means it DOES NOT MATTER because the correct answer is always going to be "make both possible." you're welcome, HR departments everywhere.
We know all the married people on here gettin’ laid because WFH... or at least they were before someone got on someone’s last nerve. Shout out to the singles who were mid drought pre quarantine...
Anyone else realizing that family, friends, and general relationships are SO much more important than accomplishments as a result of covid/WFH?
What percentage increase would you need to leave public accounting for a position at the same level (example: Manager to Manager) in industry? And as follow-up, if your public accounting firm then came back and matched the offer, would you stay or would you go? Looking for some other perspectives and consideration as a decision could be looking myself.
I am all for equal rights and inclusion and diversity. If we are going to have real change. I need some insights from women fish. Why is it if the internet is down, computer or TV is acting up, it is my fault because I have a penis? This holds true from a diverse set of females - my mother, wife, daughter, etc. When is this inequality going to be addressed?
Show of hands; who has been laid off because your agency lost a big client? Also, when you interviewed for your next job did you feel comfortable saying that? And do other agencies understand?
Anyone else delayed at LGA? Sky club meet up!
Can they disburse excess PTO for those who get fired on 11/16 to the rest of us?? It’s just in time for thanksgiving AND Christmas, too?!
Currently a SC at a big 4, and have an offer to come in as an experienced analyst at Mck, is this a good move? NYC, and salary is slightly lower.
Anybody got expiring delta drink vouchers?
My base salary progression with 3-4 YoE: 60K (Company 1), 71K (Company 2), and currently 83K (Company 2, Promo). My consulting focus is currently in healthcare. Having salary negotiations next week with a midsize tier 3 firm within their strategy consulting practice. What’s the bare minimum I should aim for as base salary? Glassdoor shows a wide range from 95k-125k. My target is 110k-120k. Is this a stretch?
https://hbr.org/2020/01/what-top-consulting-firms-gets-wrong-about-hiring thoughts? Article mentions case interviews as a poor predictor of performance.
What are the lessons that you have learnt from Strategy Consulting that you may not learn in other management consulting?
Anyone here who made the exit from Big 4/MBB consulting to a VC? If so, I’d love to hear about how the experience is so far. (Not to mention the WLB and comp!) I’m considering a career change but have no one in my network I can go to for insights. Thx! 🙏🏾
Anyone work for a company that went public? What was you’re experience like and how does it compare to B4 in terms of hours, learning, etc.? Did you feel like it opened up opportunities after the fact?
Is there any benefit of doing six Sigma, black belt , if you are not actively involved in quality. Also any other skills you guys recommend for better switch
