You're gonna need a lot more knowledge than just "top 3 stocks" to make an informed decision. Also the stock market is high right now, why would you invest?
You are definitely on the right track. Buying on tips, short time horizon, complete lack of diversification, buying at an all time high. Why not just give it away to charity, where it will do some good in the world, since you are determined to lose it anyway. What was your major as an undergraduate student?
OP, your initial post indicates that you are a beginning investors and that you are thinking of investing $10k, which implies that this *is* your entire portfolio, and one of your first times allocating investment dollars. Had you said that you had some "mad money" that you were willing to lose, outside of your regular investments, people might have responded with quite different sorts of recommendations. Try to be more clear in your posts in the future if you wish to avoid such misunderstandings.
I am often nice to others, including on this discussion board and no, that was not I who posted about my best friend screwing my gf.
@P3 nicely representing the firm there son! complete lack of diversification? Lol, I am asking about investing 10k in stocks - that ain't my portfolio, just saying.
Maybe being nice once in a while to others will make you feel a little good about yourself. Were you the one posting about the best friend screwing your gf yday? Probably deserve it.

Why not just invest in S&P 500 index fund? It's historically performed every asset allocation/fund over the long run and has a 9.5% annualized return since 1913.
Lol happy new year OP
Put it in something safer than equities for a 5 year horizon. Stocks are too volatile for such a short timeframe
Why such a short time horizon...? And way more information, such as risk tolerance, is needed.
Thanks DD1! To you too.
Other than doing literally everything wrong, you're well on your way. Throw it all in gold. Fox News always says gold is the way to go 😑
I suggest investing $500 in 3 stocks each (very inefficient and unlikely to do well, but u learn quick when your money is on the line. Also, losing ~2k may seem like a lot now but the education will be worth it when your portfolio is going up and down $2k every 10min). Do that for a year, trade a bit, read the company news, financial statements, and most importantly listen to or read the earnings call/transcripts. This worked well for me. And now I consider myself a knowledgable investor who has done well. (I still use this approach when I'm learning something new like an options straddle).

Better off spreading the risk around with funds
And why only 5 years max?
ADPT - it got slaughtered recently bc of cf issues. All time lows. It's completely speculative but I put a few chips in. Look into it and see if you like the idea.
