What assets (besides real estate and pension) are you buying this year?

Should I be investing money in 401k? International here under OPT and have been hearing that if I decide to not stay in the US/don’t get the visa, i would need to retire the funds and pay a 10% penalty. Any thoughts? Can I just leave my money int he US if I go back home and take it out at 60?

Bought a SFH where I’d barely break even given the realtors estimate of 1.1k rent. Neighbor kindly let me know going rate was actually 1.6k. Put it up for 1.5k to get a nicer long term tenant and signed in 2 weeks. First investment property and learned a lot from here/bigger pockets so feeling pretty good!

Has anyone had any experience with online platforms prescribing ADHD medications? I’ve seen ads for Done and wanted others input. I was diagnosed 21 years ago and have been treated by doctors every month since, so I don’t need an initial diagnosis. But my health insurance changed and my doctor is no longer covered. I can’t get in to a new doctor without a long wait, nor do I have time to take off work for the appointment, which is why I was leaning towards a virtual appointment. Thanks!

QQ for those admitted to Kellogg R1 - How soon did you receive your financial aid information?

The 40X rule is a pretty standard guideline for how much rent one can afford (your gross salary divided by 40).

But pragmatically (especially as one advances in their career), does it make sense to spend that much on rent even if you can afford to? I’m in my early 30s making $230K base salary. No partner, kids, or debt…but also no substantial savings. In my shoes, how much would you say is practical to spend on rent?

I am 25 years old with in hand salary of 1L(just from last month) and i want to buy a term insurance plan. My questions are:
1. Is it wise to take 2 plans of term insurance one with return of 60 years and another without return of 80 years of each 1cr.

Alright guys - need a little perspective in this crazy market. A good friend of mine (Big4 consultant, M4/Sr Mgr band) accepted a job offer with another Big4 back in December, and starts next week - during that long period, he’s received another offer from a bank with healthy terms — to be honest, I am unexpectedly traveling down this same road as well, as things are so hot; so he and I are tussling with walking back an accepted offer because of the market. What say you?
