OP, which ETL are you talking about? If that's what I am thinking, that's not a "space".
Datastage is also known as infosphere
acn does a lot with ETL....I'm currently on one. The developers used informatics for everything....
Just join the data practice of any Big4 and you will see all the ETL products that you want. At Deloitte we are part of the AIM practice.
Keep Mulesoft out of it.
Isn't this primarily a function almost entirely run by offshore teams? All the Indian firms do a lot of this in my experience, and Big4 is just PMO'ing the client to get the data so offshore can ETL it. There is some design and setup of an integration platform (such as those mentioned) but I don't really see much of a career path as a "specialty" at B4...Salesforce projects often have a significant amount of it, but Salesforce is the more important element of that.
Tbf I am a Salesforce guy with a little Oracle, not SAP. Every single data delay I have seen, 100%, is the customer not producing what was asked of them, on time or at all.
OP, the better question is what ETL solutions do the big 4 go to market with - the answer is pretty much all, but to different degrees. If you want middleware you'll get it.
Informatica and datastage
I haven't heard of datastage, Informatica and Mulesoft are big around my practice
Deloitte Digital has Mulesoft rolled in to our Digital Customer practice, which is primarily Salesforce and NetSuite otherwise. Lots of onshore and offshore work
Pwc1: The demand that we have for seasoned ETL onsite personnel is huge. And the fallacy f dismissing ETL as just a offshore component has come back to bit most implementations. Just a Data point to note: 86% of all failed and overrun SAP projects are due to issues related to Data. And 75% of those are data migration delays.
Your numbers, assuming they are well sourced, don't surprise me at all D1. Seen it many times
I've been on a team building open stack ETL and Vis solutions. It's tedious but fun in a weird way trying to rebuild functionality of the other tools mentioned here using open source
If you aren't in it already, don't get in it now... not a hot skillset...
Mulesoft is an ESB.
