I will never send an email after working hours. Even if I do this I delay send it so that the timestamp is only during working hours. This helps for others to understand where my boundaries are

I think it’s important to flip it, schedule your life first and then schedule in your most important tasks that will produce the highest results
There’s this theory that the more you work the better the results but it doesn’t actually work that way
That is a good way to look at it!

I’ve had two phones for ages, but I’m going back to one in my next job and using Apple’s Focus Modes to turn off all work notifications.

Yes! I refuse to check work email, Teams etc after hours.
Block my mornings and afternoons so my meetings are more concentrated.
I don’t have work communications go to my personal phone/laptop. So if someone wants to send me a work communication, it goes to my work laptop, which I shut when I’m done working (around 5-6pm local time usually). I’m not seeing emails or messages after I’m done working so I’m not even aware if something “needs” to get done. It’ll have to wait until the next day. I’ve had no issues and my supervisor and I have a great relationship.
Also my supervisor does have my personal phone number, (I didn’t have a work number at the time I got this job) but if they called outside of work hours (they haven’t thus far) I might not answer. If it’s very important, they would probably leave a voicemail or text me after. But again, if you have the option, a separate work phone/number is better. (Could try a google voice number which is free)
Block 5-730pm every day. This allows me to be present as best I can for my toddler and get him to bed. I take calls when needed but people know they aren't getting the best of me at this time. I do tend to work late at night to catch up and try to delay emails
I still get 40+ billable hours a week. Usually my days are filled with calls so I get my substantive work done in the evening when the emails and pings die down
