My spouse is currently on H4 visa which is due to expire in 7 months.

I was planning to ask my employer if they can start filing for H4 visa renewal. However, she is also eligible to file for EB2 NIW visa as she has worked as a research analyst in a non profit organization earlier during her 6 year H1B visa.

Could you please advise if both EB2-NIW filing can be applied when H4 visa renewal is already being processed or vice versa?

My partner got a City of Toronto offer. Salary band is 104-121k. HR asked for his expectations and he said 115k. HR came back with a 106k offer stating nobody on the team makes that much so they cant offer it. Also said she is unsure if there is any wiggle room if any at all. I’ve looked at everyone on the team with the same titles salary on the sunshine list and the lowest I see is 121k. I assume there is an OT component of some sort but also can’t confirm. I just started a new remote job. I am on the east coast and the company is mostly based on the west coast, so some meetings are super late my time (some even 11pm if there is an important product launch etc.) Does anyone have any advice on this time difference and does it get better?
