Stick it out?! Nahhh. They’re using you. You deserve to be compensated for your work. Keep reaching out to agencies and reach out to lower level creatives at said agencies - they will likely be flattered and be willing to bring you in, show you around and introduce you to the recruiter

Are you just sending your book in to the careers website? If so- they will never go anywhere. You need to flat out tell your manager and team that you are interested in full time work at the agency. Schedule a 1:1 and ask for performance feedback. If you get positive feedback let them know then. If you get just ok feedback- learn from it and start applying elsewhere.

like

If it’s your dream agency stick it out. Offer to help on other projects. Make friends at the agency.

Also go into 1:1s with a plan. Bring a list of items you want feedback on and bring questions about process or projects you want to help support. Ask the person about their approach. Soak in that learning. Be humble. Grab your career by the horns and set SMART (google it) goals for yourself.

You might have a better chance of coming on full time in the new year, so maybe stick it out for a few more months? Your higher ups will get a better idea of how many people they can hire in Q1.

Another way to look at it- How long is normal for interns to be around at this agency? If they’re keeping you around longer than that but haven’t hired you yet, chances are they want to but don’t have an opening yet. If they didn’t see any reason to keep you, they wouldn’t. I know it feels like they’re using you. Odds are they aren’t. Very few interns are worth the trouble if you don’t see any potential in them. That said, you can have a conversation with your creative manager and feel them out on what the plan or process is. Something like, I’m happy to be here and I’m learning a lot, appreciate the opportunity, etc. But since it will be a year soon I’m wondering if I‘m in any danger of having to look for something else... Unless they’re a total psychopath, they’ll give you a clue what your future there is. You can ask, just don’t be bitter or entitled about it

And I really don’t have any connections anywhere else, all my applications get ignored even though my book is decent? Am I missing something?

Currently working at a Risk Consulting internship at one of the Big4 for the Summer. Been an enjoyable experience but honestly I’m kinda stuck on what I really want to do full time. Got a really big interest in the Tax environment as well. Majoring in Acc and MIS - Kinda can go either way with these majors. Any advice? (Also don’t think I’d be public accounting for life - So long term wise not sure which is better)
