2006 Honda Accord I’ve had since high school and bought with my own busboy money to get to school (went to a magnet school with no bus) when I was sleeping on the floor because we couldn’t afford beds (2008-2009). Axel broke twice, feel like I might die every-time, sometimes it’s hard to turn, CD played stopped working years ago, rusted as hell, brakes shake, but love that car and it got me a girl who loves me for me. It goes this year, 2020 Jeep TrackHawk ordered and being made as we speak.
We have 8 total: Three classics and a Scat Pack Challenger bring ALL the fun needed 😊
I’ve never really been close enough to ask anyone who keeps a car forever and I’m seeing a lot of it in the thread - have some questions. Are y’all not concerned it’s going to just die one day while you’re driving? What about maintenance costs/shop time? I had an only ~8 year old Silverado and was in the shop like once a quarter till I got out of it(just before trans blew up). What about safety/technology updates? QOL?
Trying to understand what the motivation is. Just not having a payment? Making a statement or something?
Thanks for the thoughtful response, IBM6 - maybe I’ll circle back here to update y’all once I upgrade in future ...

2017 Civic - great A to B car with an almost non-existent monthly lease payment. We just had a baby so we’re considering an RDX or GLC once this lease expires.
Love 911 and Taycan
I had one of them. Was a great car even if the electronics and coms pack were a bit ‘naive’. Traded it in for something faster.
