I really like the Air Canada card. You get 25k status and 1 status level up if you spend $50k a year. You also earn up to 100% bonus AC miles for flying on United based on status level. I'd you can get to AC Gold status (50k), you can use United Lounges on all domestic US flights.
AC also awards miles based on distance, so you can likely earn more than what you would if you credit to United.
Other than the Marriott bonvoy card, I don’t hold any other specific travel card. I try to get transferable points through ultimate rewards, member reward points or venture x Capone points.
I’m a big fan of the AMEX Platinum (and dropped my CSR). Comes with Hertz, National, Hilton Gold, and Marriott Gold status, plus Delta, Centurion, Escape, and Priority Pass lounge access. And things like AMEX FHR which can be great for hotel benefits and Global Dining through Resy
