Anyone else not getting points / nights for recent Marriott stays? Account activity isn’t working in the app
Lost sense of maximizing points/mileage value for int’l flights. Why is Detla redeeming so much more for some routes than Chase UR and even other partner airlines? E.g. non-stop economy btw Detroit-Seoul // Delta redeeming 160k on its own route while Chase UR 123k & Korean Air 80k for same route (code share)... I get it all depends on timing but still weird directly using Delta Skymiles on its own Delta route is more expensive than going through other methods....
Need some advice.I’m on the backside of my career having spent 35 years in healthcare focused on the delivery of care and the insurance of it in business Felipe my for disruptive companies. I am looking to create a side huddle that could grow into a part-time gig in 5 years earning 60k where. I am not a licensed medical professional but I know the healthcare ecosystem, motives, thinking, and challenges that exist. I’m wondering how to parlay this knowledge into a side gig. Looking for ideas.
Right now, I have the Southwest Rapid Rewards card because a) when I fly the family, Southwest works best for us (but travel for work is AA). I have 500K+ SW points. Also Hilton Diamond with about 300K points (had more but just redeemed a bunch for a family trip).
I hear about the Chase Sapphire Preferred, the AA Citi card that has a big annual fee but includes a lounge membership.
My goals are being met (free or cheap travel for family trips), but I wonder if I'm leaving money on the table and could be getting more out of my points earnings.
Any suggestions on what I should do differently or change with my strategy?
Whew I used to work as a home health nurse and when they said old people will forget everything but racism that sh*t is true!! The amount of times I got hard r'd, had older men say insane things to me about my skin color or my childbearing abilities. Chile I could write a book. Anybody else dealt with this? Especially with folks who are losing their memory? So glad I left and never looked back but to this day I think about it!
A question for the mental health practitioners out there: do you take it personally when clients switch to a different provider?
Do you think Black folks in healthcare would serve in more leadership roles if we were more proactive about going after promotions? Most of the Black admins I know at my job go above and beyond, are loved by everyone and seem like they'd be perfect for promotion but that's not what I'm seeing happen. Are they being overlooked, or just less likely to pursue it?
Best single credit card strategy? Tired of juggling 2-3. Expenses this year will be lots of travel hopefully and new house expenses. Thoughts?

I’m on the job search looking for the next opportunity for growth in my PR career. What are the best PR agencies to work for & why? I like the looks of agencies like Max Borges Agency, Codeword & BAM. I am looking for a job with these qualities:

- Work life balance is valued & respected
- Diversity is evident in various people of race, age, etc.
- Compensation is worth workload & not underpaid.
Let me know whose the best!
Hi creatives! I need your help here. A quick background:
Junior copywriter based in Toronto here. Came to Canada about a year ago and did an internship at Klick Health.
Once it ended in late August, they didn't take on ANY intern full time. Been job searching for the past 3 months. Would really appreciate any leads/insight on some entry level gig or internship that might be available in this city. I know it's year end and it's hard, but I am still hopeful as I have seen people still get hired.
Partners, we know reaching your level means you often don't have to worry about money. But are there any frugal habits you still do? Clipping coupons, saving hotel shampoo, soap, etc

I have been on Flex Time for a little over 6 months and the extra time I get to spend with my family on top of already being remote has been amazing, as well as more time to read. Growing up I did not like to read, but I realized I didn’t like reading required books, but I absolutely reading books I like. Between free audiobooks from Libby and physical books, I’ve read/listened about 10 books in the last 6 months compared to ZERO after I graduated college 10+ years ago. Time>Money
What is the best credit card out there for either miles or cash back ? I spend around 2k per month! Currently I use BOA travels reward with no annual fee!

Been with a big 4 consulting for less than a month, but I just received an investment banking analyst offer at a small boutique investment bank of less than 10 people. I like the idea of working at a huge company, but I also have wanted to do IB after graduating. Base salaries are the same but the bonuses at the boutique could double my base salary. If I take the offer I'm giving up the chance to have a brand name on my resume after college, but I'd get IB experience. Thoughts?
Anyone ever drive to the far rockaway beaches? What’s the parking situation like on the weekends?

Grading a pile of student work. One student wrote, "I don't know if this is right, but I tried." Almost a guarantee that they didn't.

Interested to see some perspectives - currently working at a Payroll & Benefits Specialist at a fast growing company and recently passed my PHR! I just started this role only a few months ago but am already feeling like I can take on more, but not as much as a HR manager. I’m struggling to understand where exactly it is I can go from here. I’m 25, have 3 years of experience, and get paid $59k/year.
Where does one go from here? Thanks in advance for any and all answers!
Started a new job, in a new field, a little more than 2 months ago. Company is quite transparent about internal opportunities and moving within/career development. I’ve enjoyed the job I’m doing but just found out of newly created role in the company that would be my dream. Do I even consider this opportunity or just keep doing the job I was hired for? How would you approach the conversation with your boss?

I have been in HR for 7 years now and am finding it difficult to find an employer with proper work-life balance. I would like anytime that I’m out of the office to be secured me time. No work phone calls or texts after hours or on vacation, but this just isn’t seeming possible once you hit the director/managerial level. Should I continue to look for a more fitting opportunity or is anyone finding this standard for HR?
My company did away with the mask mandate months ago, but my manager is adamant that everyone on our team continue wearing them when we're in the office (which is 3+ days a week for most of us). I love my job and my team, and I generally like my boss, but I can't stand having to be masked up. Is there anything I can do or am I at the mercy of her random rules?

I was told to come in for orientation which consisted of signing paperwork for about 20 minutes, then that was it. No company overview or anything like that. I wasn’t even sure what the company did after the first month or two. I still think it was a type of pyramid scheme to this day.

Following up from my last post about remote being possible for our profession. Do we as HR professionals have concerns that going remote will also increase outsourcing of the remote roles to more call center environments/PEO/etc.
I’ve noticed everyone wants remote don’t get me wrong sounds good, I’m more Hybrid, but the reality seems a bit uncertain as we know the use of AI is growing and remote work may mean outsourcing in the future.

I am a TA leader and report into HR. There is an internal opportunity reporting into another group that would be an excellent growth opportunity for me, directly reporting into TA. My supervisor and I do not have the best relationship and believe our personalities clash. I need to tell my supervisor I am interested in exploring this opportunity, but I am nervous of retaliation and manipulative tactics as I have seen in the past. Any advice for broaching this conversation?
