Anyone know L23 PayPal comp package?
I'm in Berlin and like it. Groceries are super affordable, housing still relatively so, and work-life balance is built-in to the culture here. So I'd say Berlin!
Berlin is the correct answer!
Lisbon and Madrid not bad either.
Come to Vegas! Great city with lots to do! No traffic. A low cost of living. No personal state income tax. And you are only a 4-5 hour drive from LA!
It depends on your lifestyle goals. First map that, then do a quick Google search. Lots of lists out there to help with your question.
There are a ton of LCOL cities out there where 100 grand would make you pretty well off. But yeah it definitely depends on your lifestyle and how you would like to live. The reason people live in areas like SF/NYC is because of the work opportunities, as well as the lifestyle. Now with the expansion of remote working, it could be a lot easier to move; however, it just comes down to the environment in which you want to live in
Tulsa, Tacoma, and Toledo.
Do you want east coast, west coast, south? City or suburban? Lots of options!
I live in Omaha, NE. I make 50K a year and I live comfortably. Home prices are on the rise but you can find any kind of home you desire for under $300K. We are in what they call the "Silicon Prairie". Although we do not have the jobs on the scale that SF or NYC does, there is a lot going on here. COL is low. For example, I just paid annual taxes on my 02' Lexus with only 80K miles and the bill was $27. I would also recommend KC, MO if you want similar COL but something slightly more metropolitan. Omaha does have decent culture, a great music scene, and plenty to do but KC has NFL team, a national baseball team...etc. You can rent a luxury apt for under $1500 or buy a very nice home/condo under $300K in both places.
Probably like Boise or Bismarck
I can’t live anywhere outside of NYC, city life is all I’ve ever known.
I thought I wanted this until I was commuting into the city regularly and decided I didn’t want that life all the time.
Rising Star
Most suburbs of large metropolitan areas - Phoenix, Denver, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Portland, cities in Florida. Honestly anything but the typical HCOL places like the Bay Area, NY, CHI, BOS, SEA
If you are not someone with very costly life style then Charlotte, Nashville, Richmond, Raleigh and many other tier 2/3 cities will work but it depends how much you spend on day to day basis

Be mindful that a lot of companies will adjust your pay if you move out of state. Whether it's worth it is situational
Northern Virginia, suburbs of DC, lots of great tech jobs
I live here very comfortably, just sharing my experience, no need to be rude.
Not being rude. I just think it’s unfair to the OP to blatantly lie about the affordability of Nova. Unless you live in way out in fairfax or Reston. Arlington, great falls, city of falls church, Bethesda, etc are none as one of the highest places to live in the country regarding real estate, grocery, taxes, etc etc. Please only contribute truth.

SM1, no need to get personal. It's plenty to say disagree and offer examples to the contrary.
It so happens that you're both right here though. Nova is expensive relative to regional pay, assuming typical spending. You can look up pay and prices easily. The region isn't so bad real estate is especially unaffordable though. Anecdotally, I happen to know a pretty recent grad who bought a house somewhere around downtown Arlington after just a few years of working as an MLE. Idk what they make, but parents didn't help, and they work at a university lab, not a hedge fund or FANG, and only have a bachelors. So, several years savings going to a down payment is just as possible in NoVA as in better paying regions. Without living in the boonies.
Speaking of the boonies, I wouldn't call Reston or even Centreville that at all. Rush hour traffic to DC is about par with what seems to me an above average but normal commute time in the bay area. That said, how long is too long to spend in transit is of course a matter of preference.
I live outside of Raleigh, NC (about 25 mins) and make under $100K. I’ve lived in my home for 6 years and am seeing selling prices increase daily. I’m hoping if I ever move to make a great profit! Keep us updated!! Are you looking nationally or internationally?
Pittsburgh! Very affordable, great food, lots of things to do, and when the bars open - great bar scene
Lived in Pittsburgh for many years and I agree on affordability. That said, this is a truly viable option if you are white... While the city continues to be selected as most livable city, there is a lot of recent research on how it just is not a good place for minorities based on many variables, including professional growth availability. This was 100% the reason we moved from Pittsburgh (the kid loved it there, and we actually had great friends), and unfortunately we are not the only ones who have experienced it. After moving out, now living in Tampa, finding it less affordable particularly in housing (Pittsburgh prices are just unbeatable, we bought our first house for less than 35k... and that is not a typo) but absolutely better in all other regards.
