Would you like to consider covid levels at all in your criteria? 😀 If not, Miami. If yes, maybe San Diego/la Jolla

Isn’t Southern CA the worst for COVID right now?

And Oceanside is less crowded than those beaches so a plus in covid era 😀

Typically my favorite place but February would be kinda dark and gloomy to be staying for a month. Amazing for a weekender though.

I was just in AZ for a month and pretty much everyone wore masks indoors (every business I went to required it) — I felt safe. The issue is everything is completely open including bars and restaurants, so you’re susceptible if you go to those venues since people don’t have masks on at the tables. I didn’t go, but loved the hikes and outdoors. There’s tons to do. @OP the area isn’t really walkable, so I had a car, but you can get around by Uber too. There may be more walkable neighborhoods in the city though, not sure!

Weehawken, New Jersey.

Though this post was in jest, New Jersey is not a joke. I arrogantly thought that once, but travelled to the countryside and found there are some places as beautiful as my home state.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Seattle and personally don’t mind the winters, but if you have one month to live anywhere/vacation, this isn’t the place to pick right now.

Not a bad place to spend a month. Plenty to do even with Covid going on. There are also a lot of nature spots if casinos aren't your thing.

When do you think it’s the best time to ask my firm to be remote only/ work from a diff country? During my review? Right before I move? Adventures in Interviewing: Today we were wrapping up a pretty good interview with a strong potential candidate. When asked if they had any last questions, they said that they had an issue with our Work from Home policy (we’re 100% WFH right now, and will not consider a re-opening strategy until everyone is vaccinated). The candidate declared that they did not believe in vaccines, so we needed to allow her to be a permanent remote hire. I guess I’m glad about the dodged bullet, so there’s that.

My MIL has made remarks to my husband that she doesn’t understand why we need a nanny for our infant since I am able to WFH (I’m a biglaw associate). She also doesn’t get why we have a cleaner and dog walker and seems to imply we’re wasting our money by outsourcing funds on things we can do. She was a SAHM so I guess I understand why she feels that way, but how do I explain to her why these things are necessary? I actually love my MIL but this is driving me nuts.
