What coins are you holding? 3/12/21

Anyone else feel depressed over crypto? I bought maybe 8k worth in 2017, watched it go to 32k and then drop back to 8 and then to a low of 3k during the pandemic. I often averaged down, especially last year after i realized that they were climbing back up after the pandemic drop. At the end of 2020, my fiancée and i had huge costs with a lot of life changes, and made the decision to sell crypto since it was finally green and things with it felt a lot more uncertain than they do now.

Bio: About to finish my first year (23y) in a few months and have 10k in a 401(k) plan and 28k in a checking account (I attribute living at home for most of my savings). I have 19k in private loans (5-6%) and 35k in federal loans (4-5%, 0% rn) from UG.

Question: Don’t know too much about investing outside of basics and unsure if nows a good time to invest based off my experience level but I want to maximize my savings. Also, my mom has a 8k loan at 7% as well as my own loans. Any advice?

Working on two contracts at once. How does the tax code work?

We probably want to sell our house in the next year or two. What are all the things to do before it goes on the market? E.g., repaint interiors, have handyman fix all the random small broken things? Get windows washed? Touch up landscaping? Any guidance on what you really have to do vs what you can skip? As example, if paying $10k to repaint the house means I can charge $10k more then it doesn’t really seem worth the effort (nets out anyway)....

Mortgage question. We bought a beach house a year ago as a STR and it’s been a huge success. We wanted to do another, but my usual lender won’t qualify us for another mortgage because they need two years of rental history on taxes to count it as income. Has anyone had a lender work with them on this?

Why do people not just use the option wheel strategy on S&P 500? Is there something wrong with this if the returns are >15% in a year as opposed to buy and hold which averages 9% every year.

So I have dabbled in stocks for 10 years but always a small amount. Since last year I have gradually raised the amount and have made significant profits ( 40k last year n 160k+ this year so far). The latter amount is even more than what me or my wife individually make annually. I am very passionate about it but wondering can and should I take it up on a full time basis in 5 years from now. Just signed an offer for msft and setting a tentative start date. The manager seems flexible between a 8/1-8/15 start date. I was targeting a 8/15 start date so I could two weeks off and recharge my mental health while keeping my insurance, but the recent slowdowns and news of (very minor) layoffs at msft and other companies like Google have me seconding guessing myself.
