Deloitte just announced changes to 6 months
Yeah this is like Deloitte Norway or something. US is 4 months, though you still accrue PTO and can take a non paid sabbatical after. I've known many people who were out 6+ months

4 is getting pretty common in tech it seems (for both parents).

I think we just updated to 4 months
Super appreciate this discussion, thank you OP for asking. Glad to see things are changing in the industry. As a woman hoping to have kids soon, really helpful. 👏
Meta has 6 months. I think Microsoft as well.
Juniper networks is 6 months 100% pay
Mastercard 4 months
+ this is for both males and females

EY gives 4 for males I think.
EY gives 4 months parental leave (for BOTH males & females).
Salesforce is 6 for ‘primary’ care giver and 3 for non-primary care giver. No way to tell if you are primary unless both spouses work at Salesforce so I’ve seen many parents take 6 months. I feel like the men on my team take 3 instead of 6 but that’s just a cultural thing we need to change.
What’s MBB like? McKinsey specifically

McK Will update this year though, already discussions in place
Netflix there’s no specific rule around time but have seen people take 9 months

They also famously fired someone who took too long of a leave so….

Adobe is 6 months.
I’ve seen 4 at startups for both parents too, it’s becoming the norm
Do firms provide paternal benefit from day 1 or do you need to spend a year before becoming eligible?
Depends on the firm. Deloitte has immediate eligibility for leave / parental benefits (but you are not eligible for FMLA job protection until after a year). KPMG requires you to be there a full year before full benefits kick in, otherwise you only get 6 weeks paid and the option to take unpaid (and if unpaid, pay all your healthcare premiums out of pocket).
Source: was prepared to accept a KPMG offer last August, found out I was pregnant and investigated both firms. Ended up going with Deloitte offer for the leave benefits and my baby is due at the end of next month.
6 months is becoming the norm for a birthing person and 4 months for partner.
