All in Chicago: Protiviti - Tech Consulting (Software Solution practice) 69k Good work life balance (40 hr a wk) & good culture EY - FSO Tech Risk Advisory 76k Deloitte - Financial & Risk Advisory 75k I like that Protiviti has a better work life balance and the culture seems very friendly but the prestige of Big 4 seems nice too.

Anyone here from EY Tysons Corner (Assurance Service Line) want to tell me about the firm culture, is it a great learning environment, client base? SN: I started at a smaller National firm but left years ago for industry so I’ll be coming in somewhat starting from square 1 but at a senior 1 level.
I always see people moving from big firms to smaller ones, but not the other way around. As my first job I am currently working in a small investment firm with a very relaxed corporate culture but eventually I’d like to switch to consulting or a big corp/ bank. Has anyone done a big switch like this? How was your experience, what challenges did you face and do you have any tips to build the required skill set and make the transition smoothly?
Has anyone here worked with a boutique firm call Strativity? I’m interviewing for a position with them but can’t find much online about company culture/experience.
Accepted an offer, but the day before another company came at to interview. They offer more pay, better benefits, works more in line with what I want. But they haven't given me an offer yet, I just have a very good feeling. If I do get offer 2 how bad is it to go back on offer 1?

Why don't more partners (esp. tier 2/MBB) just retire at ~40-45? What keeps a person going at that point? I get working a job that's meaningful and and for a cause close to heart, but why work an objectively demanding job when you have multiple millions saved and a fairly high level of prestige in your field?
Fam, I’m traveling abroad on Tuesday and I need to insure my watch ($11k). Could you please refer a reliable insurance company?

How can I become more “okay” with being an average performer? I’m two years out of school and have been considered a high performer so far, but it’s taken a toll on my mental health and I feel anxious most days. I’ve realized that the cost of being a high performer outweighs the benefits, and am trying to loosen up and be more comfortable with coasting on occasion... I’m what people may consider an insecure overachiever. Has anybody here ever had the same feeling?
What would you value more when deciding between jobs (both non-PA) - a company w/ prestige or with work life balance & good benefits. Let’s say same salary and potential for growth. I’m ambitious but also totally burnt out and over public accounting.
I've been taking the past few months off in order to work on my mental health and learn new technologies that are popular in my industry. How long a gap can I take before it sends warning signs to employers?

I'm definitely more productive remote. The office just provides too many opportunities for socializing. Plus I wouldn't feel ethical billing my client for my midday nap.
2021 Headwinds and Tailwinds. What are the thoughts as the fiscal year closes out? I'm seeing 2021 as likely more punishing given the lack of visibility and the fact we may have diminished economic activity for 2 to 3 quarters. I have little visibility into how comp will be impacted but can only imagine lots of early retirement zoom parties. Thoughts?
