Few recommendations:
Find a good realtor. Get pre-approved for a mortgage.
Big things to look out for when buying aside from location in Texas are:
How old are appliances? I’m talking mainly Hot water heater, AC
What do HOA fees look like. These usually only go up as a property ages and can be a boat anchor on your wallet
Walk around the entirety of the townhome development. Are there any maintenance issues you see on the outsides of other properties?
If you’re looking to move out after a few years and use this as a rental, what are the policies around that in the HOA?
@EY-Parthenon1. Please share. That would be very helpful. :)
Property taxes.
Cedar park’s Avery ranch area has some nice town homes. A bit south around the Hmart area is great as well. Great if u love Asian food and KBBQ. Look up the area around the Presidio Station neighborhood. I almost bought there. It’s west of 183/Lakeline mall. Pretty nice and safe area. The light rail runs through there and they’re building a new shopping center as well.
For “new constructions” u probably won’t find any in Avery Ranch and will have to more north. Presidio Station has some homes built 3-5 years ago. Relatively new neighborhood. HOA is kinda garbage tho.
Here is a home on sale ther rn (just an example) https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/13615-Terrett-Trce-Austin-TX-78717/302820052_zpid/?utm_campaign=iosappmessage&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=txtshare
