My firm pairs people up for 15 minute coffee chats throughout the month. Honestly, I not much of a fan but I’m sure some people enjoy it

I can definitely see how forced fun would be welcomed by people who live alone and feel isolated.

From time to time I schedule short team meetings with the rule that work is a forbidden topic

I don’t recommend scheduling too much since I think most of us already have worse hours than normal without many of the perks (though WFH is amazing) but my teams always chit chat for a few minutes at the beginning and end of our morning/afternoon touch points

I suppose making small talk cultural is helpful. I always tried to do this with clients as it breaks down walls a bit

Vaccine passports to get into the office

To be clear, we aren’t doing this either, but we should be

Pick up the phone and call people

It seems like mutually free time has been tough. I did just schedule a lunch 3 weeks out with someone.

Hello Sharks!

I’m from fintech industry. Worked in ATM domain for 4Y including 1.5Y in client facing ML project.

I’m looking to switch to Data Scientist (or similar) positions in fintech sector.

Can anyone please help with referrals for the same? If not, please suggest the companies working in this domain so I can reach out by myself.
