If you shop on Amazon and Whole Foods, the Prime credit card is a good, affordable option with great perks.

Sapphire Reserve. The perks outweigh the annual fee,.even with Covid.

Chase Saphire as my main card, AmEx blue cash for gas and groceries. I also have the Amazon card that I only use at Amazon

Amex Platinum. Have had it since I was a first year. It was cool because I had lounge access pretty much everywhere, but that’s not a useful perk these days, is it?

For now, I’d get a no annual fee card, save the $500 and next year when restrictions have been lifted look at points & miles cards.

Apple Card

Apple Card only - not many perks but it’s so secure and you can change the virtual card number anytime

After reaching out to the general counsel on LinkedIn, I applied for an in-house job a month ago. I didn’t hear anything. A few days ago the general counsel reached out on LinkedIn and said she did not see my application in the mix but was hoping to and asked if I wanted to meet. I said I did apply, indicated I was interested in meeting, and asked if I could send my materials. She said yes and she would send me some times. I sent my materials and haven’t heard a thing. Any idea what is going on?

Does anyone know of any remote contract jobs in auditing? Specifically, risk management, compliance or internal auditing? I’m able to work 20+ hours a week. I’m a detailed-oriented person and and a great communicator. I also have a lot of experience in presentation design and enjoy doing those a lot. I would prefer a contract job receiving a 1099 and am not interested in being a w-2 employee. Please let me know if any of you have any referrals. Thank you and I appreciate any tips you can give.

I’m currently at a medium sized tech startup. I was interviewing for a role that would be a bump in pay and title at a multinational public F50 company. At first, the hiring manager and head of legal were very complementary about my experience. Almost too much so. After a week of interviews with the team (softball-esq), I was informed that if I wanted to join, they would bring me on at a lower title. I’m not sure about comp yet. But if comp is still an increase + experience at a public..

How will custody work in that case? I want joint, but how do I take care of him alone with this job in the meantime?

Does anyone else feel like the term “manage up” has been twisted from meaning “try to set expectations for your availability and process” to “do both your job AND the partners job?” So many partners just ignore email requests and pings until everything is last minute or on fire. When I mention this in any sort of review “manage up” is normally what I hear back, in some form or another.

the main partner I work for hasn’t been giving me consistent enough work (or type I want) so while I work for him still on some deals, I’ve had to go and get other work from other partners. He doesn’t regularly check in on what I’m working on. He keeps volunteering me for projects without checking if I have capacity and if he expected to know everything I’m working on… he would’ve thought I was just doing nothing the last 2 months.
