Thoughts on the proposed JetBlue -Spirit Merger?

I used to be a big fan of Jetblue(nyc based), but lately I feel like the airline is just as bad as the low cost ones. Old aircrafts, canceled and delayed flights. I can see why it’s important for JetBlue to have this merger for their relevance in this field.

We flew back from Ireland today on Delta. Our connecting flight from JFK at 6:10 was cancelled while we were flying over the Atlantic Ocean, and we were rebooked on a 3:40 instead (2.5 hours earlier) but not notified. I received no email, text or app notification of the flight cancellation or the new flight we were placed on, so we missed it. They now cannot get us home tonight and won’t even guarantee they can get us home tomorrow, impacting my work, (cont)…

Just want to get some advice….I’ve been with my company for 6 years. Our company split into two divisions and brought on a senior manager and a director. A friend of mine from a top tier consulting firm was counseled out. Do you consider it ethical that his career counselor is intentially spreading the information to his colleagues and to other consultants from other companies in the project? What can he do about it? Specially that he considers the potential layoff is purely based on the current situation (chargeability was low) and not on his performance (they said that his contribution to BD during his bench time was low)?
