I think talking about promotions/pay raise aren't greedy: E.g., my goal is to get promoted, what are the results I need to get there. It's gets your manager thinking and you focused. Very healthy conversation.
Though the amount of time is relative, it’s more so what role you are really playing and you ask for compensation for what you’re giving the team/company. Otherwise, they’ve got to hire someone to replace you which is more effort from everyone overall ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Still a sup so I don’t have an answer for your timing, though I’m interested. But this is my current info for reference if it’s helpful

Also, not that this is an end-all / be-all solution but Glassdoor has a tool that can tell you the market value of your position as well.
^^ Agree. If there’s no one above you, insert yourself into business driving conversations both with clients and internally. I was promoted to MS making around 93k then to AD very quickly. Study the job description and see what you may not currently be doing, and start doing it. It’s more about driving the business at that level then executional expertise.
Really appreciate the advice and input from everyone!
AD 1, any perspective/advice on how to insert yourself into the conversation if you have a GAD that is well loved and has more experience/time on the acct? We are close and I’ve talked to her about it, but given the above dynamics she tends to be the go-to internally and externally for these conversations and I’m having a hard time breaking through and adding value beyond her inputs. I know a big part of that is time and making sure to add thoughtful commentary when appropriate, but curious if you have any other tips to push and improve further?
Also, curious what age most people went from AS to AD.

Looking for answers too
Thanks for asking this question. I’m curious to know as well
I would ask to start learning about some of the responsibilities she takes on. How does she build a scope, forecast revenue, learn some of the internal workings of the agency so you can start to take those on or at least attempt them first. It’ll give you a more holistic sense of the business. From a client perspective, I’ve learned so much from regular 1:1 calls with my clients. You become their go-to, you learn about things before a status call, get to offer advice to the client in areas beyond advertising, and overall understand their business and their role better. You can then start to connect the dots for them in the work your agency is doing, with other aspects of their business.
From an age perspective I was 30.
