I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?

During one of my PE interviews, I was asked this question. I gave a pretty standard answer (like the work, want to do some investing, etc etc). Interviewer (who was the managing partner and top dog of the fund) stares at me blankly while I’m answering…clearly not buying it. He then goes, “ok, with that out of the way, why do you REALLY want to do PE”. Without hesitating I reply, “I want to make money and lots of it”. He responds, “good, you look like someone who wants to be rich. I like that”. Got the offer.
Private equity is certainly a more edgy crowd than consulting. Love the response and not shocked the MP ate it up

Best advise I got was that if you don’t know the answer to that question then you shouldn’t be in PE
