Looking to get an internship at a Big 4. I’m a non traditional student. Currently in my last semester of school will graduate this fall with a Bachelors in accounting. Worked in the industry for 11 years with USAA most recent position Business Risk and Controls Advisor. Agree with STAP. Also, try to tie your answer in to the open role. Eg, In my current role, I split my time between practice areas A and B. Going forward, I want to focus on A for Reason. That's one reason why this position appeals to me; it would be a great opportunity for me to contribute my expertise in A by XYZ...
STAP1 nailed it. Only thing I would share is be humble when talking about challenges and growth, and be as genuine as you can.
I explained that I felt stagnant in my current role with no growth potential. This was 100% the truth and also expressed I was willing to grow with the company
I’m ready for a new challenge, and I explain that the need for upward mobility and looking for new opportunities isn’t necessarily a bad thing! Sometimes we are just ready to move on for something different
