What diet plan has worked well for you?

Context is in talking with other folks who know much more about diet & nutrition than me, I feel overwhelmed with all the potential “objective truths” they keep swinging that often contradict each other - some say plant based, paleo, carnivore, keto, whole 30, etc

Ultimately I know it’s a game of knowing your body and what works best for you

Addl contxt - M, early 30s, eat a bit of everything & never dieted, no allergies / health concerns I’m aware of

Honestly what worked for me was having a calorie budget and sticking to it. I also made everything I ate from scratch. Plus I stopped drinking and eating out.

Also great points. When I’m on a cut, I make everything so I can create the recipe in my calorie counting app. Way easier to stay tight.

smart

I like a super hard cut. Like lose 15lbs in 2 months type of thing. I count every calorie and eat very high protein. I see great gains quickly which keeps me super motivated then after 2-3 months of that ~1000 calorie a day deficit, I shift back to maintenance calories.

It’s not sustainable at all but it’s not meant to be. It’s meant to crush some progress while my motivation is high then stop the dieting so I don’t get mentally exhausted from it. I still count calories on the maintenance phase (MacroFactor is awesome to define what maintenance means for you) but shift toward my more sustainable eating patterns.

like

For me, it's just reducing caloric intake. I don't cut out any food completely but in order to keep within my calorie goals, some things naturally get reduced sometimes to the point of being cut out but I'm still free to have it if I choose to.

I've lost weight on different diet plans but the problem. But most were not sustainable, and I didn't make necessary adjustments in my lifestyle to keep the weight off.

I've tried all the ones you names and others, and none were sustainable for me.

smart

All eating styles work but it needs to be a lifestyle choice that works for you.
Calorie budget, protein and real food focused, portion control with treats, and not eating like an asshole. Junkfood and alcohol and sweets should be treats and minimal bc you’re building tissues and muscles and organs. Most people need meat and fruit and veggies for optimal volume and satiety.

My boss started harassing me because he found out I am vaccinated against covid. What does a vaccine have anything to do with marketing?

like

Okay everyone, I need to rant here.

I'm so sick and tired of getting an email everyday! And I mean every single day getting a COVID 19 email saying there are cases.

My school gets so many cases, I firmly believe we need to go back on lock down and online. This is getting ridiculous that we put state funding over the well being of our students and staff!! I dont want to get sick nor get covid or spread it to our students.

And our job wonders why no one wants to work for us and stay working.

May I present to you the most American ad campaign of all time?

America’s healthcare system is such a nightmare that the CDC is encouraging people to get the vaccine shot just to hopefully avoid being crushed under the weight of obscene medical debt.

I’m a shy, anxious, and introverted person but in functional roles where I usually need to talk to a lot of people. It makes me anxious - even though I’ve been doing it for over 5 years. I get so insanely jealous of outgoing people in the workplace who can just talk to people so easily. It’s affected my mental health & even though I’m in therapy (2 months in), I feel like I’ll never get a grip and overcome my shyness. Can anyone else relate? 😪

Hi all. I am 33 and my husband and I are about to enter into our 3rd round of iui. Everything for me checks out from a health standpoint. I am literally off the chart regarding ovarian reserves (13 AMH) so no fear there. Low motility from the male perspective. Any success stories from the 3rd round of iui?

I’ve heard if it works, it’ll work on the 3rd round. I’m also asking for double insemination this time instead of the normal single from the previous 2 times to hopefully increase chances.

Hey ladies, so I moved to the US a few years ago and am still figuring out the healthcare system. I have heard that hospital bills related to giving birth can get up to $10,000 with insurance. When to return to work? I live in CA - my son was born in mid March and I’ve been on disability through July 8th. My original return to work date was set for July 25th assuming a 6 week disability and 12 weeks of bonding time. Since my disability was extended I still have 11 weeks of bonding left to use. Should I use it all now & push out my return date or return as originally planned and take the rest in 2 week blocks spread out every ~6 weeks until he turns 1?
