PWC Dallas Audit - what’s the base salary for an experienced associate for internal audit? Have ~4 years experience in public accounting (Big 4 and smaller firm)
What’s the day to day like in audit at a big 4?
What can I do in the next 4 months to boost my chances? Shooting for HSW and MIT, and want to do Tech/VC/Entrepreneurship after MBA. Background: Asian female, 3 YOE at big 4 consulting by round 1 deadline this year, 4 YOE by enrollment time Stats: GMAT 740, GPA 3.9 from big 10 public school Rec: those who know me well went to T20-25, those who went to M7 don't necessarily know me well EC: strong undergrad club leadership, none outside of firm initiatives since I started consulting
Prior to this ive only ever done FS operations focused consulting i.e. mix of implementation & operating model development/assessment. Hours usually 830-7. Got an offer for a strategy role at a big 4. What are the average hours like? Am I going to regret this?
Any insights on Protiviti’s data and analytics space? and also on so called ‘WLB’? 9years in analytics in Big 4 and looking to switch if that helps.
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
A question for Big 4 peeps - if you know the salary range in the group you wanna go for is 150k to 170k, how much should you say when the HR asks you how much you want? Is 180k too much to start with? (Didn’t want to start with 170k since they will only come back with lower I assume)
Help! I’m from a general strategy consulting background (big 4) and have some experience in large scale transformations as well. I know joining tech companies seems to be a good move right now, but I’d like to understand, what are the best types of roles that ex consultants could seamlessly move to? I heard Product Managers, Product Owners, Program Managers, but are there any others? I want to exit for sure but I don’t want to make a short term decision I regret.
Any partners who switched from B4 to MBB, if so what was your experience and how was the transition? Would you do it again?
Has anyone worked for Intuit as a CPA for TurboTax? Is that even allowed if you are working at the big 4? I transitioned out of a tax role to a consultant role and am thinking about doing it.
Poll for the group - How common are PIPs at the various Big 4? Is it like the whole bottom 10% of everyone’s group or a once-in-a-while-this-person-is-dumb kind of thing? Have heard of quite a few within my group and wondering if it’s normal or something isn’t quite right.
Has anyone ever had their luggage lost by LOT airlines? If so, were you able to get any reimbursement?

Which Big 4 is the best to be at regarding work culture and benefits? Especially during these tough times.
What is salary range for new SM ?
Accidentally gave the wrong insurance information and was told there'd be a $1000 deductible. I can't stop thinking about how millions of Americans can't have access to healthcare because of this 😓
SC at Deloitte or M at a public (but less well known) IT firm? Same pay, slightly better benefits at IT firm. Basically, how much is that brand name worth in the long run?
Align to non-M&A offering but do a lot of work in the space (DD, integrations). B4 recruiter reached out and wants me to provide resume for review with hiring partner in M&A space. Does it work if I provide a bio with summary of M&A projects (client names removed) instead of a traditional resume? Also plan to list education and past experience but primary focus on recent M&A work
‘‘‘Tis the season for the layoffs
We started state testing today with my kiddos taking their FSA Writing. It is the first time I have seen them in school as they are a digital class, and such an amazing experience to see them together as they talked amongst themselves before we went to the classroom to test. You can see how much they miss being together. ❤
I woke up and had a rush of anxiety thinking about my family and future. Dad isn’t working. Sister can’t find a job. Moms health is deteriorating. Two mortgages. Job security. Whew child
When are we going to admit that the every week travel requirement was created by baby boomers trying to get away from their wives and kids?
How are those people experienceing hoemelessness being impacted by COVID-19? Has anyone seen any data?
Does anyone else find it difficult to ask for time off? I haven’t taken a “vacation day” since February, billed 185+ hour months consistently through the pandemic (exceeded hours for 2020 bonus eligibility), and am feeling pretty burnt out. It’s hard because other associates in my department haven’t really taken any time off either (or it has been a day or two sporadically). Would really love to take some days over Christmas to recharge but I’m nervous about perception.
Had my first recruiter call today. When they asked me about my comp expectations, I asked them to tell me their range first and they said that they couldn’t disclose it as it was confidential. However, if I told them my range, they could tell me if they could match it or not. Is this standard practice? I didn’t want to disclose my range first but they didn’t leave me with a choice. How do you navigate such a situation?
I will never get sick of listening to teams explaining pop culture to clients who don’t pay attention to pop culture. “Ok well the Jonas Brothers are a band, but also brothers..."
Asking for a friend: What’s the interview process for a FSO Manager in EY joining the DnA BI team like? Has anyone been through the process recently? Thanks
